random idea:
someone in the 141 with an engineering background begins dicking around.
The next day, Roach walks into the mess hall and his helmet's got two semi-flexible rod things attached to it. and they're motorised. they swivel and twitch like real cockroach antennae feeling around.
Roach half-hates half-loves them.
He decides he loves them after the aforementioned engineer gives him a remote to control the antennae. He now uses them to help emphasise him moods when his facial expressions are hidden behind his face mask.
(obviously he doesn't wear this special helmet when he's on missions, that'd be a liability.)
