#TBT - this was the first video I directed for a big hit song. So special to me because of the message of the song, because I shot it at Paisley Park, because Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced it for their label, because the group The Sounds Of Blackness was full of amazing people. I painted that floor black myself and did the set design, hung everything with my college roomate- I was still living off campus with like 4 roomies - we got supplies from Home Depot. For years after, whenever I was going through some rough times I would hear this song and it would inspire me.
