This scene really made me feel bad. I feel like Marshall Lee has been having a terrible time this season. The fact that his mother got a restraining order against Simone breaks my heart. The fanfics weren't too far from canon, really.

The fact that Fiona doesn't see how much Marshall is suffering because of this makes me feel somewhat sad. I think Fiona is so blinded by her desire to support him and not seem like a "loser" that she focuses more on pleasing others than on actually doing what is morally right.

I love that Gary and Marshall Lee had a 3-minute healthy conversation about Gary’s tendency to be controlling, followed by a kiss, where Bubbline fought SO IMPOSSIBLY HARD that Marceline made a diss track and then they broke up for 2,000 years about it.

I have mixed feelings on the season two as a whole and these two in particular. 're cute together, but it's hard to construct a plot solely out of fluff. I liked a little conflict in the e5, but it was a bit anticlimactic the way it was resolved in the same episode. But I don't lose hope!

zero notes on Fionna's struggles though, it does in fact suck that even after apocalypse (that you prevented) you still have to pay rent and be a functioning adult
