I’m writing out a version of Peek-a-boo with Fluffy Bunny for a fanfic and it turned out ok so i’m putting it here. When Papyrus says “THE ENDING GETS ME EVERY TIME” Well... i interpret that as less surprise because he’s not expecting the ending and more a healthy little dose of feels ;D
A fluffy bunny walks through the forest, happy as can be. The bunny meets a fox, standing beside a tree.
‘Close your eyes fluffy bunny, and we’ll have a bit of fun!’ The bunny closes it’s eyes and when they open them, he’s gone!
‘Mr fox? Where are you?’ The fluffy bunny cries. ‘…To make me appear again, you must simply close your eyes!’
Confused but ever hopeful, the bunny’s eyes go slack. And when he opens them again, the fox is there and back!
‘Mr fox! Mr fox! I thought you’d gone for good!’ ‘Why, my dear fluffy bunny, I wouldn’t abandon you if i could.’
Sometimes you can’t see me, and that makes us want to cry. But bunny even when i’m not there, I can always be nearby!
We can play Peek-a-boo and really then you see, In those moments things are bad, close your eyes and you’ll see me!
Papyrus closes his eyes and the pages turn wet. He holds the book close to his chest. “MISS YOU…” He whispers, stroking his scarf with a habitual familiarity. Foggy memories of something he feels he should remember but yet never knew comfort him softly. I know you gave me this scarf. I know you did. He nestles his skull in the red cloth and breathes in the scent.
Even if I don’t remember... I still love you.
