WIP Wednesday

Well, my current writing project is still the Sonic Big Bang rough draft, which I can't share. And I showed off the most recent art WIP last night, which is my Cullentine preview.

So I guess for today's showcase of what I'm working on, aside from the above, I spent some time yesterday assembling ideas for Rookanis Week prompts, since that's coming up soon too and I want to do stuff for it. Definitely art, hopefully also a little bit of prose for each day (flash fiction/minific length, probably). So here's the visual inspirations for the art side of things:

Helpfully labeled so you have an idea of where I'm going with these. Imagine everyone labeled "Rook" (except maybe the actual rook bird) has horns.

For Day 4, I'm still undecided if I go with the bridal carry (and probably a kiss), or if I instead use the "hauled off like a trophy" version with an exasperated Lucanis. The latter would be funnier, but I wouldn't be able to put a kiss in there.

And I told @serialsforbellara yesterday that of all the prompts, it was actually "Open Doors/Cages" that gave me the most trouble thinking of an idea. I finally decided to go with a literal cage and representative birds for that one.

And I know I've seen Dragon Age fanart using the pose from Day 6 before, so it was amusing to be looking for inspiration/reference pics and find that and go, "Oh! That pose!" (It's a very "let that man sleep" pose when Lucanis is involved. 😏)

Now to figure out how many of these I can slip Spite into in some fashion.

Do you have any tips for new fanfic writers?

Hello! Thank you for the ask! ✨

For fanfic writing, I always tell people to write whatever makes your heart sing. You found a fandom that sparks your joy. That’s great! What would you like those characters to do? What conflicts would you like those characters to face? This is your story, so you can tell it in whatever way you want!

If you need ideas, what I suggest is watching a movie, or reading books/fanfiction (especially from the source material you want to write about, but others work too!) to spark that creativity and come up with ideas of your own to jot down. Get a note pad (or notes app) and start getting down bigger ideas.

Cliché is okay. If you want to change it up a bit later, you can. But if an idea really sticks out to you, go for it!

Finally, no matter what you end up doing, know that it is yours, and the person who should be happiest and proudest of your work is YOU. Be self indulgent, write what gives you joy. You will thank yourself later 💖

Okay, I've decided: I'm going to write that AU were Aloy is a concubine and Erend is still Captain of the Vanguard after listening to that song over and over today.

I won't say the song until I've finished writing it lol xD All I can Is That It will be probably written in First Person from Erend's POV (I didn't write in First Person in years, so It Will be a challenge) and it will be a one-shot for sure.

Also, since English Is not my first language I'm still looking for a Beta Reader. If you're interested just DM me ;)

What are some iconic symbols that you’d love to see turned into embroidery pieces? Ideas I already have:

Potion bottles (of various colors, for various “uses”)

Harry Potter symbols

Hello, homestucks / homestuckers, I have some idea to make a video for funsies in the future. But I'll need help with suggestions.

It's basically this: what games would the Homestuck characters be more likely to play? But I won't make it about the usual video games, more like I'm going into some sort of niche.

I'm talking about the games that were published on Big Fish Games, GameHouse, Arcade Games, Yahoo Games, the usual 60 minutes trial thingies. And yes, this includes the PopCap Games collection. And the horizontal shooter Platypus game that recently got a remaster and got published on Steam.

I know there are definitely plenty of genres and themes, but you can also go more specific with titles and what not. :3 And mention the publisher as well for easier research.

I'm giving a small example for better understanding, Jade looks like she'd be into those Turtle Odyssey platform games series (cause I did get to play those as a kid), but she wouldn't play just these titles.

I did play plenty of these games years ago, but I definitely didn't play all of them, and maybe you know something that might be obscure and fits the bill. So what do you think?
