Gator Posse (aka Energizer) The Pause
As Energizer returns to the farm to heal his torn tendon, we wanted to share our thoughts on him as his parents, providers and owners.
Energizer has already exceeded any hopes as we never thought he would be a racehorse. From having badly windswept legs then becoming leader of The Posse; discovering he had EPM then receiving the call from Dawn at Cadence Training Stable to say “Energizer has arrived” - not to mention a few hiccups in between - told us he is a fighter and won’t give up. Neither will we.
The overwhelming support Energizer has always had from birth is felt by him. There are so many that have taken him into your heart and a few that consider him their own, along with those who came to the farm to meet him, his Jockey Club name chosen by Gator Kitten and those there at the track to support him made us (and him) feel he was accepted and belonged in the race world.
Although Gator Posse was only racing for 7 months, he broke his maiden and has a 3rd and some 4th’s under his belt. We are sad for him because although we knew he is not a stakes quality horse, we know he is a better racehorse than he has been given the chance to prove.
For now, his future is uncertain. Will he race again? Will he have a second career? Will he be a companion horse? These questions are a long way off because it will be over a year before we know he is healed, healthy and fit. Then, Gator Posse will tell us what is next.
In the meantime, Gator Posse will continue to support Racing For Home and enjoy a lot of quality time with us. Expect to see plenty of him as we keep you updated on his progress.
One thing is guaranteed - he will always have a home, family and a lot of love!
