the game contradicts the canon of the books in the game the Gaunts are rich and beautiful, and in the books it was said that the Gaunts spent the money before the birth of Merope and her brother
It does indeed, even the castel isnt 100% book accurate. The libary isnt in the enterence hall, the Chamber of Secrets bathroom is in the dunegon when it's meant to be on the 2nd floor. (That makes fanfics a bit hard as do we go by book or game?)
I know the Gaunts from the game arent in line with canon exactly, but id rather have a little out of canon then not have anything new at all. Ominis and Marvolo were not brothers in the book, but they are in the game. The TV show will hopefully add more, on Pottermore's archives, there's quite a bit on the Gaunts, some of them were even Irish while the ones we know are British (From Yorkshire by the 200 miles from Surry, everywhere else puts Tom Riddle in the sea)
