DBH Secret Santa 2018

Sliding into this at the last second! Here is my contribution for @dbhevents secret santa. I intended for it to be just a collection of important moments between Hank and Connor but boy did I get carried away.

It’s not complete, so I apologize for that. I went out of town for a week and had way less time than I was anticipating. I do intend on adding chapters as I get them done now that things have calmed down a bit.

My secret santa was Gavimp, and for whatever reason Tumblr isn’t letting me tag. She asked for shooter/adventure genre, and my mind went shooter = Military AU, so I hope this is all right! It takes place mostly during the same timeline as the game (just slightly elongated) and re-imagines Hank and Connor in the army during the hostility in the Arctic between the US and Russia.

I thought I treat her with a pic and I have her drawn as her android-sona www.deviantart.com/gabrielcic/… (if that's a word lol) from one of her favourite games: Detroit Become Human. I checked out the game and thought I wait until I can get a PS4.

Front facing portraits are hard for me so I am sorry it does not look so well but I am happy with the results and hope to improve on that in later works. I hope you enjoy it :)

For me not only I ship those two in the sense of the reasons you mentioned, Hank was insolating himself for the rest of the world after his son's death and Connor was able to break the wall if he chose deviancy path and giving Hank the hope he was looking for before giving up in life. There's a whole healing and terapeutic process they both went together and allowing Connor to be himself rather than just a machine. That's why it is important for me.

Exactly! Connor gave Hank a reason to live, and Hank protecting him and treating him as a person was the catalyst that allowed him to break through his programming. And that’s the sweetest irony--Connor trying to save Hank for the mission and it turns out it’s Hank who ends up saving Connor (from Cyberlife and from himself).
