Baby Bump book two, chapter twenty-three
Gavin is so fine,,, we got cheated
Warning: Long Post
So I'm currently on chapter 13 of Baby Bump, but boy...
Honestly I'm reading BaBu 2 only as a diamond-mine lol. I feel that it's a bit unrealistic how MC gets so much influence and everyone asks her for things when they can just do the things themselves. And MC has just lived in Gracetown less than a year! The story revolves so much around MC, as if MC is a goddess who could (or even should) solve every political and personal problem in Gracetown. The spotlight for pregnancy I understand, but the level of social influence she has doesn't really make sense to me. And Dixon is supposed to be THE Mayor!
I also found it weird how everyone is always there for MC, like, won't Dixon and Clint have bigger things to do? Like..... an actual job??? Dixon needs to run the town?? Clint has a business??? And then there's Gavin & Joel, and Joel has his own family, yet they both decided to show up in MC's birthing class?? And there's Jebediah too, who's unnecessarily rude to MC but then thanks her for turning him into a soft grandpa. Idk I feel like Jebediah could've been written better than just as character who needs to be sacrificed only to make MC look like an extremely kind-hearted person. All characters could've been written better tbh.
And lastly I'm not much of a big fan of MC herself. She kinda feels Mary-Sue? I can't really find anything she lacks of that could possibly make her character more believable, except all the (unnecessary) drama she has to go through.
Sorry for the long post lmao, but that's how I feel about BaBu. I'm excited about the chapter where we finally get to meet the twins, though. And I'd love to hear your perspective of this book too!
Now Added: Gavin Covington
Gavin in his semiformal outfit has now been added to the Transparents folder
So Gavin is in love with Cassandra right? I am not the only one who got that vibe?
