Last night I read Batman Volume 1: Daylight by Matt Fraction and this was a good read. Very much felt like a fresh start with a new suit and Bruce back in blue.

Throughout the six issues collected in this volume, there was a lot happening, but Fraction has written it in a way that it never felt overwhelming or confusing.

Jorge Jiménez is as always fantastic with how the characters are drawn. What's interesting is that usually one writer will have multiple artists on a title as things can sometimes change, but in this case it is the other way around as he has been on it since James Tynion IV, and then was with Chip Zdarsky and now is with Matt Fraction.

I am very much looking forward to seeing how things play out moving forward.

Last night I read Transformers Volume 2: Transport to Oblivion by Daniel Warren Johnson and this was quite the continuation from Volume 1.

One thing that I'm getting the impression with this series is that it is very much a no holds barred with how things go for some of the characters throughout both these first two volumes.

As mentioned in the post about Volume 1, I did in part start this series because I saw some panels from Issue 30 and was wondering how it all came to be, and I am starting to see some of the groundwork leading up to it.

Last night I read Transformers Volume 1: Robots in Disguise by Daniel Warren Johnson and this was my first step into the Energon Universe. I don't know what other titles are in that universe, but I will have a look at some point, given the name I saw in one panel, I can guess one of the other titles.

What had me going to pick up this title, was partially seeing a new take on something from my Childhood as I grew up with the Cybertron animated series. But also I saw a few images from I think Issue #30, so I am curious about what leads to all that happening.

As for this book, it really does not waste any time in getting going, and definitely has it's darker moments. But it was an interesting read, and I am interested on the new takes on the characters.

Last night I read Final Boss Volume 1 by Tyler Kirkham and this was certainly different. I can definitely see the inspirations into this.

I am intrigued by everything going on and how it all connects, so I think I will continue on this series.

Last night I decided to reread Wonder Woman Volume 2: Year One by Greg Rucka from the Rebirth era because when I was reading Gods and Mortals, it was bringing this one up in my mind, so decided to reread it.

The story itself without thinking seeing how it is different to Gods and Mortals was a fun read and it is one definitely worth checking out. Rucka is one of the writers I definitely feels understands the different aspects of Diana and balances them well.

Whilst it has been a while (about 10ish years) since I read this series, I know that Volumes 1 and I think 3 are the ones that deal with her origin as I do kind of remember it starting with her questioning if she was made from clay or if she is a demigod daughter of Zeus. Probably going to end up rereading those two now haha.

Last night I finished reading Wonder Woman: Gods and Mortals by George Pérez after starting it Saturday night, and given that this was a retelling of her origin and how she became a part of the wider world, I'm guessing this came out after a Crisis event, maybe Crisis on Infinite Earths as it was a complete fresh start.

But anyway, interesting to find out the original origin for her as well as finding out how the Amazons came to be in the comics.

The way this begins building Diana's world and her supporting cast was interesting with how it started out as separate stories that then begin to intertwine.

But yeah. Interesting read and was cool to learn some of the pre flashpoint lore of Diana and her world.

The rewrite of Issue 6 is complete!

After a couple goes and then completely changing up the setting, I am much happier with how this has gone. Changing the setting has definitely helped to set it apart from the arc that covers Issues 1-5.

Next stage is to go through and tidy up the story arc that covers 6-12.

Also got some bits to figure out as my brain has been on fire with ideas haha.
