Synopsis: When Maya catches you reading Girls Can Kiss Now, she can’t resist teasing. But the tables turn when you catch her reading it too,and suddenly she’s determined to prove the book right….And maybe the book isn’t wrong

You were sure you were being discreet. Crouched on your bed with your favorite mug of tea, you were fully engrossed in a book you’d found earlier: Girls Can Kiss Now. The title had made you laugh, but by now your cheeks were flushed, and you were starting to question your life choices.
A soft snort made you jump.
“Oh… wow,” Maya Hawk’s voice came from the doorway, dripping with amusement. Arms crossed and a smirk in place, she leaned against the frame. “You’re reading that?”
You tried to hide the book behind your knees. “It’s… just a book!” you stammered, heart hammering.
Maya tilted her head, eyes glinting. “Just a book, huh? For… research purposes?”
“Not… exactly,” you muttered, cheeks burning.
Her grin widened. “Of course. I should keep an eye on you. You know… for science.”
Before you could protest, she had snatched the book and was scanning a page with exaggerated shock. “Wow. This… is… impressive,” she said, voice low and teasing. Then, leaning just a little closer, she whispered, “After all… girls can kiss now.”
And with that, she pressed a quick, playful kiss to your lips. You stumbled back, half laughing, half mortified, and groaned into your hands.
Later, the tables turned. You found her perched on your bed with the same book, flipping pages like a scandalized student.
“You’re reading it too?” you asked, trying not to laugh.
“Don’t judge!” she said, voice dramatic. “It’s… educational. Very important.”
You pointed at her with a grin. “Right. Very scientific.”
She leaned closer, smirk teasing, and added, “I think we need to… test some of these ideas. For science, obviously.”
Your stomach flipped. “Maya, I—”
But she didn’t wait for permission. Another playful kiss, soft and teasing, left you breathless. When she pulled back, her grin was impossible to ignore.
“What do you say?” she asked, tossing the book onto your desk. “Want to help me figure out the rest?”
And just like that, your quiet afternoon transformed into chaos. Leaning-over-the-desk kisses, whispered challenges in the kitchen, accidental shoulder brushes in the hallway that turned suspiciously flirty, all punctuated by laughter, playful groans, and the occasional mock-annoyed glare.
By sunset, the book lay forgotten somewhere between the bed and the floor. What mattered was the mischievous sparkle in Maya’s eyes, the warmth of her hand brushing yours, and the dizzying, flustered happiness of discovering how fun “research” could be.
After all, it seemed like the book had been right about one thing: sometimes, a little chaos and a daring friend could make the world feel a lot more exciting.
A/N: SUPPPPPERRRRRR SHORTTTT SORRY GUYS BUT I THOUGHT THE IDEA WAS CUTE!! I HOPE U GUYS LIKE IT!!!
rewatched daisy jones and the six and guys-
this show is one of the best idec
they made a whole freaking album out of the songs they make and put it on spotify and literally ALL OF IT IS GOOD???
they actually made a complex female protagonist work and not just have her be crazy and rebellious and thats it
the feminist messaging is not too subtle but also not too on the nose and definitely not lazy
accurate and sympathetic portrayals of addiction
accurate depictions of black queer people in the 1970s: two woc (femme - stud) who live in new york and make gay ass disco music together and SPOILERS: i was so scared they wouldn't get a happy ending because thats a tired trope but they actually DOOOO YES FUCK YES
stevie nicks said she watched it and it was like watching her life
randomly explicit pro-choice messaging but fucking go off
the vibes are so good oh my gooooooooooooodddddddd mm
also plot twist was interesting for once
pls watch it esp if u like fleetwood mac silver springs lore n shit
edit: this is not abt the book because i think the show is better just my opinion
