Everyone misses Ken's long hair. Me too, but tbh I miss Daisuke's little sideburn dealies more.
APPMON IS ON CRUNCHYROLL! The whole season is up and officially subtitled! So happy to see one of my favorite Digimon series getting added. It's been hard recommending the show to people when the only available translations were poor or inconsistent. I hope this fun series gets plenty of new fans.
And for those who gave up on it before, consider giving Appmon another go. Appmon is silly and childish, but there's a lot of heart behind it. With lovable characters both 'mon and human, and a final arc that'll rip your heart right out. I really love it!
If I could change just one thing about the Last Evolution designs, it would be heights. Listen. Daisuke should be short! He should be close to the shortest of all the chosen, with only Hikari and Mimi under him. At 17 and 19, I don’t buy that Iori is shorter than Daisuke, and by that much too. Iori should be taller by now! And speaking of tall, Miyako is a tall girl, OK. She should definitely, definitely be taller than Daisuke. Mimi used to be a tall girl in Adventure, but she had already evened out by 02 and I’m fine with that bc at least Miyako was there representing tall girl glory.
I want my short guy and tall girl back!
Takato really is the best gogglehead. Sure, he's driven by his emotions a lot -- he's sweet and such a good kid, but when he gets pissed, he gets pissed -- but he's still incredibly thoughtful. He makes mistakes and learns from them in ways that stick with him from episode to episode. He's clever enough to realize Culumon's connection to evolution. Caring and driven enough to decide to go to the Digital World to save Culumon, while still considering how it would effect his parents. He recognized his responsibilities as a tamer to both Guilmon and his world. He's chivelrous and supportive, never giving up on Juri even when she seemed too far gone. He's probably the Digimon protagonist who acts most his age, and yet we watch him grow and mature so much through the series. Tamers gets touted as the most mature series in the franchise usually because of its darker elements, but those would matter little without good characters, and Takato as the leader is what ties the whole package together.
Groovy or not groovy? I for one... am totally not feeling it.
