Bob Lenz: Evangelism & Children

Yesterday I had the awesome privilege of hearing Bob Lenz speak at church. Something I love about Bob is that he is so in love with God and has a passion for reaching and loving children. Bob's message really impacted my friends and I, so I wanted to share with you some awesome points. 

The Importance of Investing in Children:  1. 2 out of 3 people come to know the Lord before the age of 18

This statistic was very surprising to me. It makes sense though. Once children start to become surrounded with peer pressure, it is easy for them to loose sight of God in a world that tells us that the key to happiness is money, sex, and good looks. 

2. The enemy targets that age group specifically We call all remember the difficult days of middle school full of awkward transitions, fitting in, and the brace-face days. Tons of kids all over the world have little to no godly influence in their lives and many suffer from lack of love and attention from their parents. By investing in the lives of children and showing them that we love and care for them, this can make such a huge impact. Did you know that on average 18 teenagers commit suicide daily? This heartbreaking fact brings me to my knees asking God to bring truth and love to these children's lives. 

3. Jesus loves children   It's a fact! Many times during Jesus' time on earth He constantly speaks about His love for children. One of my favorite verses is Matthew 18:1-5 where Jesus mentions how we should welcome, love, and become like little children. 

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said:“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."
