outsider + dead kit/apprentice warrior names (arc one)
remaking an old post!
I love coming up with warrior names, but I don't always get to give them, so I'm going to put the hypotheticals here just for fun <3
can u count two three
i cannot :(
last time i tried, my two fell on the floor and got all dirty so now i can’t use it anymore.
(^me rn btw)
some ghostie facts that haven't come up in the comic:
while Sherman has the strict trait, this only applies to patrols, where she's insistent on nobody fooling around. back at camp, she's actually a bit of a prankster! she's also buddies with hemlockpaw.
deerbite has a problem that you could liken to moral OCD due to his righteous trait and dark forest connection; he goes into days-long spirals whenever he finds himself there in dreams. thank god he's never developed the curse :")
deerbite has had a crush on rapidspeckle almost his entire life; this is 0% reciprocated and she actually dislikes him a little.
some meta stuff that I guess I'll put here - wolfstrike only killed fauna (instead of someone else; I did actually roll for him to kill someone) because fauna hated charredtail and I didn't want him to kill him LOL
How did they cover up Charredtail's death?
I was hoping nobody would ask LOL cuz I ... wasn't sure myself, tbh
the most obvious route they could take is that it was self-defense. it was an open secret that Charredtail had a bit of a crush on Cobaltshine, who didn't get along well with Hornetstar, and while nobody suspected her as a murderer in a serious enough capacity to make an accusation- especially since it could have easily been explained as her losing her footing- it was Very obvious that she wasn't openly negatively affected by her death at all. though she did, of course, panic behind closed doors (as it were) and stew in guilt, not because she actually misses Cobaltshine or anything but because she knows she's not a murderer and is afraid of the ways the whole ordeal has changed her.
anyway, the lie they could potentially spin, with everyone more or less knowing the tense charred-cobalt-hornet thing, is that Charredtail genuinely suspected his mate of killing his crush and got violent about it, giving Hornetstar no other choice. obviously they'd all hate to deface Charredtail's memory like that, but Marshlily and Fireflash had to make an executive decision since Hornetstar wasn't ready to talk about it. Marshlily is very, very invested in keeping the peace, so Fireflash followed her lead and made that official statement. however, Marshlily did promise herself that someday, when all of this is over, she'd make everything right by him. it haunts her, but she has faith that someday she can clear his name, even if he never forgives her.
that said ... distrust has been building among GhostClan. not too much, not for a rebellion, but there are ... theories ...
so who knows how well that's believed?
Did.....did Scratchpounce murder one of her own kits??? And either way I'm just thinking of the rest of that poor litter without their only parent now. Was she even caring for them with how far along she was in her curse? SO MANY THOUGHTS
GOD I WISH, that'd be juicy- but this still gives me a lot to think/talk about! she definitely was unstable to the point of hurting others at that point, if not with violence than just with her general aggression (parents can be scary even if they don't hurt you physically). thankfully it was only the first couple moons, but I can't imagine it didn't leave scars and ideas about mothers that would have to be unlearned (which ... oddly I hadn't thought about which is Crazy for me so thank you for reminding me and making me emotional LOL)
what actually happened is that we also have another cat who's under the curse who's progressed to the final stage- a VERY bad ten moons for GhostClan. Marshlily, Hornetstar, and now Fireflash (the only deputy Hornet has trusted enough to talk about it with ... She actually didn't trust Fauna or Auburn a whole lot) have had to do a LOT of keeping things quiet, and have mostly succeeded. (though I imagine there's probably a few conspiracy theories ...) thankfully it's made much easier by the fact that there are predators and rogues that will Also kill them violently, so there's a convenient excuse for the killings, I suppose.
On that note- and we're pretty much completely off track now sorry LOL- it's also easier to cover up bc in line with the themes that I'm ... trying to integrate subtly, I've been toning the curse down from the original guidelines/description of the challenge, so cats will act "normal"- not for Them, generally, but from an outsider's POV, there's nothing obviously wrong, they're just particularly aggressive and super grumpy- until they have a (literal) attack and lash out + kill someone. as opposed to the original description, which involves seizures and basically symptoms of rabies. so if anyone was v familiar w the challenge and was like "this is lame, aren't they supposed to be way more fucked up?", don't worry, it's on purpose ^^;
"hey beau, how's moonclan doing?" well their deputy just got killed by a 16 year old because she kinda disliked him so i'd say not great
