Zieht die Gamescom um?
Die Gamescom sieht sich Gerüchten zufolge eventuell nach einem neuen Messeort um. Die Kölner Landespolitik will zwar alles dafür tun, dass die Gamescom weiterhin in Köln bleibt, verständlich, immerhin ist sie für Köln ein riesen Geschäft, dennoch Kämpft die Gamescom in Köln im Anbetracht der steigenden Besucherzahlen mit erheblichen Platzproblemen und die Kritik der Community steigt. Unter anderem gibt es den Vorwurf, man würde alles dafür tun um noch mehr Menschen auf die Gamescom zu locken, ohne an der Messe selbst zu arbeiten. Prinzipiell gäbe es für einen Standortwechsel innerhalb Deutschlands lediglich zwei Optionen. Frankfurt am Main oder Hannover.
Die Kölnmesse ist im internationalen Größenvergleich auf Platz 7, Danach kommt nur noch Frankfurt am Main als zweitgrößte deutsche Messe. Der Spitzenreiter unter den Messestandorten bleibt jedoch die Niedersächsische Landeshauptstadt Hannover. Mit fast 500 Quadratkilometern ist das Messegelände Hannover nicht nur doppelt so groß wie die Kölnmesse, es ist sogar das größte der Welt. Eine größere Messe gibt es also nicht.
Hannover im Norden hat aber nicht nur deutlich mehr Platzfreiheit, sondern bietet darüberhinaus auch einige andere Vorteile. Die Hannover Messe ist sehr reich an Parkplätzen, hat eine deutlich attraktivere Verkehrsanbindung, hat einen eigenen Zug- und Straßenbahnhof und im gesamten Raum Hannover gibt es unzählige Unterkünfte. Für diejenigen, die im Süden Deutschlands wohnen, würde sich die lange fahrt also lohnen. Kleiner Tipp: Besucht den Funpark an der Expoplaza 9. Der Nachtclub ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, macht aber einen riesen Spaß.

Everyone just talks about the mass of people in the halls and the games to play there... Me too, don't get me wrong there, but @gamescom has always another side worth to talk about. Thanks to the city of @koeln_de #gamescom has a home and #cologne shows the pride. Dozens of billboards hanging around the city and praising the latest games. Additional to that customized vehicles are on the road. The graziest one I saw today.
