I may be posting a day late, but hopefully I won’t be a dollar short! My #GCcleansitout Challenge goals are related to academia. This past year has been extremely transformative for me career wise and the next will be no different! I am graduating May 11, 2019 with my Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Exceptional (Special) Education K-12. (Fun fact: the only little brother I have graduates same day, same ceremony with his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications focus in Broadcast Journalism: what a Mother’s Day present for our Mama!) It has been tough balancing my schedule to meet with my professors to ensure my paperwork is all set. There has also been a change in staffing since the School of Education’s Dean has retired last academic year. An imperative part of my study is classroom use of technology. As a public school teacher, it is extremely difficult for us to access even the most basic materials we need to ensure our students chances at success. My study focuses on how teachers can use technology to aide with literacy issues students who receive special education services experience.
