Okay I usually don’t post personal shit, especially stuff that’ll link back to my real life. But I’m down to fewer than 30 days until my DonorsChoose campaign ends and I have $530 to raise.
I teach in an inner-city high school that serves a ton of underprivileged students and immigrant students. For the last two years, I’ve provided hygiene products, school supplies, and focus tools out of my own pocket and it’s simply too much for me to afford anymore.
If you can, please donate. I need to raise this money by August 16th. If I don’t reach the goal, everyone will be refunded their donations and my campaign will fail.
Help me give my students the hygiene products they need in order to feel comfortable enough at school to learn and thrive! My students come
Hello all, as many of you know, I am a teacher. I teach students who have big behaviors and have never really liked school. Many of the kiddos in my classroom cannot read or have minimal reading skills. One thing I've learned over the years is that many of the students are more willing to explore books and reading choices when they feel welcome and comfortable.
For this reason, I am trying to raise money to put together a new reading area in my classroom. In the past the reading area has been the built in shelves and a carpet with a cushion and some reading buddies, however many of my students struggle to find books they are interested in because there is no room for book bins and therefore, there is no clear system for finding books. There are also books that students are unable to reach due to lack of space on the lower shelves.
My goal is to create a whole new reading area for the students with book bins, lower shelves, and a clear system to find books that might interest them. There is a link attached to this post that will take you to the donation page. If you are not able to donate, please share this post so that others can see it.
Thank you.
Help me give my students a new space in the classroom that will create a lifelong love for reading and learning. Reading can open gateways t
So we're back to school this month- time flies, huh?- and I'm back with the annual request for aid. If you don't want the explanations, links are right after this. For explanations, read below the cut.

So here's the good news: I'm not going into the new school year dead broke and desperate for my first check! Between doing some summer school work, dogsitting, and being careful with my fellowship stipend, I was able to keep my bills paid and put some aside for classroom amenities.
Here's the bad news: with the political climate the way it is, funding for classrooms is even harder to get than ever. A lot of schools in my state are refusing to pay for professional development (even though most of us are required to get a certain amount of it every year) because the state may or may not have frozen funds for schools.
What I'm asking for: I have 2 DonorsChoose campaigns running, one for general classroom needs and one for science and academic needs. I may get a third one running soon to restock my hygiene and personal emergency cabinet for kids that need those things- we'll see. Rather than posting up an Amazon list, I am providing links to the two campaigns and my PayPal.me link.
Why PayPal too? I had sinus surgery (again) this past March, and the bill for the remainder owed is something like $2k. I've been chipping away at it, but my budget doesn't have a lot of wiggle room since that bill wasn't built into the summer expense plan. What extra medical funds I did save have gone towards the two injuries I've sustained this summer (strained the hell out of some muscles in my lower back and side, and managed to sustain a spectacular high ankle sprain last week), and I'm looking at some blood testing to address another concern that's cropped up in the last month or so.
ANYTHING HELPS! A few dollars, a reblog, linking to me offsite....I and my students thank you for even reading this far.
I’ve never posted anything like this before, but if you are able, please help me to buy some books for my classroom! Use the promo code LIFTOFF and all donations will be doubled up to $50! If you aren’t able to buy anything, please support me by reblogging my post 🩷

Donors Choose Project: Just a Piece of the Puzzle - Odessa, Texas - $198 Needed
Puzzles have been a favorite toy of children and educators for a long time. Giving our kids a variety of puzzles enhances their early childhood educational experience both at home and school. Some of the skills the puzzles enhance are Cognitive skills, fine motor and hand-eye coordination. Having a variety of puzzles for their age level is very important in their development and we have a different level children in our class, some of our kids need knob puzzles and some can do floor puzzles.
Puzzle can provide a lot of motor skills and cognitive skills for our life skills students.
Puzzles would make a great break time activity for our students to keep their brans fresh and to unwind. This would make a wonderful gift and activity for our kiddos.
Thank you for contributing to our project and our students.

I'm getting ready for my fourth year teaching in an actual classroom!
Back in December 2020, I graduated with my Early Childhood Education degree amid a pandemic and my first experience as an actual teacher was 1 month after I started student teaching. Per special permission from my university, I was hired to teach the virtual first grade class.
I sat at a star shaped table in the reading coach's room where I taught all virtual first graders and a plethora of quarantined first graders from October until the end of the school year. I didn't have a classroom at the time, because everything was online. However, I will be teaching in person come August!
I'm teaching in a title 1 school where 74% of the student body comes from low income families. I want to make their learning environment welcoming and developmentally appropriate. I want them to have everything needed for them to be successful and have fun learning in school.
Normally, I wouldn't ask for help 😅 but for this, any help would be greatly appreciated by me and my students this year! Even if it's positive vibes sent our way!
