Oh, for sure. A classic Nice Mean Girl move, and one of the more sharply observed details of El's school life. I actually have distinct memories of my middle school having a lecture on Helen Keller during one of the "leadership" classes we had (mostly because the school was too shitty to retain a single language teacher consistently), in what was transparently a roundabout attempt to discourage bullying of disabled students. It didn't work, as far as I could tell; one of the boys said derisively, "Oh, they're saying that [particular student] is different like Helen Keller."
I saw the movie Babes in Toyland (the one from the 80's, with Keanu Reeves). Everybody say that that movie is awful but I found it so cute. It's so cute to see Keanu with stuffed animals and in a world of toys! 😊❤️🥰

About the movie Flying/Dream to Believe (1986), you can find that movie on youtube, it was one of Keanu's earliest works before he went in USA, it's not perfect, but it was fun to watch. I just suggest to you just because you're a Keanu's fan like me, I enjoyed and I'm writing a fanfiction about this movie, so I can have someone to share some ideas.
