gearsgoawry: loki took female forms before, simply by means of disguise/illusion/transmutation/whatever the fuck that power is called. js. and ey expressed often enough that ey doesn’t feel less comfortable in that body. the fact that this one isn’t meant to be eirs doesn’t invalidate eir genderfluidity. plus, taking a host body has literally nothing to do with a “sex change”. just ugh for that word use. also, why the hell “barbarian”?? what tells you that’s what this new thor is going to be? like, for fuck’s sake, we all know these changes don’t stick forever, but who tells us it’s not going to be a hawkeye kind of situation in the end? and just because bruce wayne returned, that doesn’t change the fact other people have been batman. nobody would even give a rat’s ass about this whole thing if it weren’t a major hero but a sidekick (cf. the miscellany of robins). comics get renewed ALL THE TIME, which means that quite probably “original” thor will be back in one way or another, but that doesn’t make the female a “phase” or a “publicity stunt” or less legit.
