🌿 Fearne’s Adder Staff, but make it mixed media! Paint markers and green highlighter on OSB my dad found on the side of the road!
This painting is a little preview of where my work is heading as I move away from the hustle of constant in-person vending. Chronic pain + burnout made it clear: I need a creative path that brings me joy and supports my energy long-term.
So I’m shifting back to the roots of “Geekyloft” which is designing fantasy-inspired pieces, building community, and nerding out with other D&D/ren faire/DIY goblin types.
I’ve started work on a Patreon and Discord and will be sharing that process throughout the fall!I hope to create a cozy space for process videos, learning, and messy fun.
I’m learning I’m an artist and designer, not a production machine. And this business is meant to help me thrive, not burn out. I cant wait to share this next part of my art journey with you all!
Finished up dnd and decided to start a new book! SLEWFOOT: a tale of bewitchery by BROM
I found a beautiful little park across from the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Art and spent the last bits of my time in Santa Fe playing with my new oil pastels from the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum gift shop 💖
Reflection and Sketch time at Collected Works Bookshop and Cafe in Santa Fe.
Sketched out a new crane painting! I’ll have to post some of my pics from the International Crane Foundation 😍
I’ve never been great at introductions, but here goes. My name is Jewel and I’m a 33 year-old multidisciplinary artist and designer working under the name Geekyloft!
I got my degree in Videogame Art and Animation at 20 years old (from a stupidly expensive private school) and did some contract artwork in Midwest before going back to the local community college to study more traditional studio arts! There I fell in love with clay and ceramics and shifted a majority of my undiagnosed adhd attention/resources to exploring clay and becoming immersed in my local art community.
Earlier this year I found out I have hyper mobility, especially in my hands, so being a production potter is off the table. Honestly being in constant production/sale mode was burning me out mentally and physically so on the bright side this also means that I now have the opportunity, and the skills, to really let myself explore more of the illustrations and fantasy art that I’ve always loved creating!
I’m still figuring out exactly what route to take things but I’m excited to share my art, dnd oc and campaign chaos, art resources, and just general vibes along the way!
Expect to see:
