"Levi, there you are!" A shirtless-but-otherwise-fully-clothed Erwin approaches, walking quickly but stiffly. Looks uncomfortable tbh. "Have you see- My eyes are up here. Thank you. Have you seen Mike, by any chance?" @gefluegelt.
CUE A LOOK, accompanied by the arching of a fine brow. levi isn’t trying to look him over, although admittedly it’s really hard not to. a huff, then the slighter man is rising to his feet & keeping his sharp eyes FIRMLY trained on erwin’s own.
“ no, i haven’t seen mike. the fuck is YOUR SHIRT, old man? ” levi snarks, not even attempting to offer the man his jacket, knowing that it’s way too fucking small. “ you lose a bet or something? ”
“ shh, shh. you were having a nightmare. ” @gefluegelt, from HERE.
THEY GET WORSE & WORSE EACH TIME.
levi vaguely remembers someone, probably hange, telling him that the ache would dull as the months went by. that the vivid dreams would lose their intensity, that he’d grow to be immune to the stench of blood & the screams of the dying. somehow levi thinks that they’re FULL OF SHIT, because every time his eyes close for more than a moment ... the haunting of history repeats itself.
isabel’s aborted cry of his name. farlan’s last wave & gentle smile. the cloying stink of blood & guts soaking the grass, the sound of cracking bones & tearing flesh — the anguished cries of the suffering soldiers & the eerie moans of their titanic pursuers. a haunting indeed.
on this night a newly minted CAPTAIN LEVI awakens in a cold sweat, chest heaving, onyx eyes WILD. he doesn’t even notice erwin’s presence as he bolts out of bed, throwing the window open to let in the chilly night air. he takes in breath like a drowning man might, the inhale deep & long, before a coughing fit overtakes him & he collapses to his knees, hands clutching at his throat.
the blood won’t go away. it’s all over his hands, the stench of it ripe in his nose & clogging his airways. WILL IT EVER GO AWAY?
Advice for Kouki: "Go to sleep." ((@gefluegelt))
“Five more minutes.”
Advice for Aaron: "Going against the grain is an admirable thing to attempt, but if you lean into it blindly you run the risk of having your choices controlled by others just the same as if you followed the masses. Conventions are what they are for a reason. Decide for yourself whether that reason is a good one, and act accordingly." ((@gefluegelt))
“You’ve got a point. It’s important to be original, but trying too hard to be different only makes you reinvent the wheel. Sometimes things are popular because they work, right?”
“That gives me a lot to think about! I guess you’re not a strategist for nothing, huh?”
Did you hear? - @gefluegelt
“According to my sources, Erwin is particularly proud of his eyebrows! He says they make him look more intimidating and also draw in potential suitors.”

Dark nights Empty streets Long walks with no souls around other than her own and the one she was hunting -- Maka was used to all of it, but that didn’t make it any less lonely. City after city all started to blur together and while she was sure she was still in the United States S O M E W H E R E she really had no clue beyond that. Sandy hair usually bound in twin tails on the top of her head hung loose and limp around her shoulders, messy bangs covering her eyes, all while she slugged her way down one alley and the next. How long had she been looking for this soul?? Days?? It sure felt like it -- Maka wasn’t the type to just give up, but Death knew she was exhausted { L O N E L Y } and a break would have been nice. She turned the next corner and nearly collided with a dark figure, olive eyes widening as she stumbled a few steps back, hands catching on the brick at her side, the only steadying force she had.
❝ Sorry -- I didn’t hit you, did I?? I wasn’t expecting anyone to be out at this time.. I should have been paying better attention. I apologize. ❞
