ARMENIAN Այնքան շատ երգեր կորած պապիկների մասին։ Այնքան շատ բանաստեղծություններ անհետ կորած սփյուռքի մասին։ Ոչ մի խոսք Մեծ Թաղերի, Ալիմադաթլիի, Ակնաղբյուրի, Փոքր Թաղերի մասին։ Մարաշը, Մուսա Դաղը, Այնթաբը, Ուրֆան հին անուններ են։ Գլենդեյլը, Ուոթերթաունը, Ֆրեզնոն, Սաութֆիլդը նոր անուններ են։ Դրանցից ոչ մեկը մեծ նշանակություն չունի ինձ համար։ Ոչ մի խոսք Վերին Եմիշճանի, Զայլիկի, Տողի, Ջրականի, Սորի մասին։ Գտեք ինձ Շանգրի-Լան, ինչպես Գեղարդի վանքը՝ փորագրված լեռան, ժայռի մեջ, լի իմաստությամբ, որը դեռ չի ջնջվել։ Գտեք ինձ Նիրվանան, այնքան խորը լեռներում, որ նույնիսկ ռումբերը չեն կարող գտնել այն։ Գտեք ինձ մի Եդեմ, որտեղ մեզ նման սիրահարները կարող են քնել առանց մղձավանջների։ Ոչ մի կաթիլ ալկոհոլ, որից սիրահարը գլուխ կկորցնի։ Ոչ մի թաղված ռումբ, որից երեխան ոտք կկորցնի։ Մութ օր չի լինի, երբ զանգես, և ոչ ոք չպատասխանի։ ENGLISH So many songs about lost grandfathers. So many poems about the lost Diaspora. Not a word about Boyuk Galaderesi, Alimadatli, Qarabulaq, Kichik Galadarasi. Marash, Musa Dagh, Ayntab, Urfa are old names. Glendale, Watertown, Fresno, Southfield are new names. None of them have much meaning to me. Not a word about Yukhary Yemishjan, Zaylik, Daghdaghan, Jabrayil, Sor. Find me Shangri-La, like the Geghard monastery, carved into the mountain, into the rock, full of wisdom that has not yet been erased. Find me Nirvana, so deep in the mountains that even bombs cannot find it. Find me an Eden, where lovers like us can sleep without nightmares. No drop of alcohol that would make a lover lose her head. No landmine that would make a child lose a leg. There will be no dark days when you call and no one answers.

Sadly, the Khachkars have been destroyed.

Note the Muqarnas, the "stalactites" hanging over the main entrance and in the dome. Muqarnas are often seen in Islamic architecture, but the Armenian Geghard, Noravank and Yeghvard churches also have muqarnas.
