Ok so while the movie is going batshit insane ig i noticed something witb dave and frank
They talk with like little to no emotions. Everythinf they have dialogue its very to the point and monotone with barely any facial expressions. Now i dont know if it was intentional or maybe bad acting but heres my two cents
a) their calm stoic demeanor is almost mechanical and they speak more like a computer than thr actual fucking computer on screen. Hal9000 has more dynamic voicelines compared to them which says ALOT. You can practically sense the frustration when Hal tried to tell Dave about how suspicious this mission was when it was merely written off as a psychological check-up. Its probably gotta have something to do with diverting expectations or whatevas and the stark differences between the crewmates seeing no problem disconnecting someone who has proven to mimic actual thought and emotions & an AI that (from what i’ve heard) is having what could be called a panic attack due to the fact he is actively going against his programming to lie about the state of the mission and is now facing the threat of essentially being murdered by his own crewmates
