I did pick the option to be from a criminal family that moved a lot. But honestly, I imagine my MC as someone who never wanted to be a criminal but just doesn't have anywhere else to go anymore because crime was his entire life.

that's a very interesting way of looking at that upbringing but suchh a good way to imagine your MC. i hadn't thought of that possibility before-- maybe i'll see if i can add a way to make your MC look at their criminality that way!

I already saw two bugs for The Sword of Voldiir just in character creation. The "stats are too high" error comes up even if your stats aren't too high, but it just lets you continue anyway. The +2 racial bonus just appends a 2, instead of adding 2. So as a Half-Elf, my Intelligence went from 5 to 52. (This may also be what caused it to think my stats were too high?)

What's MC's relationship with the partner like at the start of the game? Or are there choices regarding that?

There will be choices about this! You will be able to dictate where things stand between you at the start of the game.

I'm not entirely sure why I thought this, but somehow this entire time -- so, for about three years -- I've been thinking, incorrectly, that Caemon is Carmello's son and the MC's half sibling, and I've simply been accepting that vampires probably consider incest to be a purely mortal concern. But in fact MC is actually not related to Caemon at all.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Wow! Maybe because the names are similar? But this dynamic (not including incest) would be cool... the MC would have to deal with a powerful half-brother. (Not just little siblings who are still developing their powers, but someone with experience who seems to doubt their place on the throne)

I mean, all of Arthuriana is a collection of works by different authors that may or may not contradict each other. It's essentially entirely fanfiction of itself, so it's hard to say whether any one piece is canon compliant or canon divergent. But I'd definitely agree I prefer to *think* of the evil versions of Arthur as non-canon.

Well yeah I just meant when I said that with the vulgate, it’s a united connected collection. The vulgate is meant to be read as a complete story that many authors contributed to. Whereas Arthuriana as a whole is just all the separate stories together. And I wasn’t really calling it non-canon. The vulgate is actually the version I’d argue as the most comprehensive and influential and the “canon” I look to the most in terms of Arthuriana. Modern Arthuriana mostly takes from Le Morte (and TOAFK) which came from the Post-Vulagte which came from the Vulgate. And in fact I think the false-Guinevere is deeply important due to the way it informs a lot about Guinevere and Arthur’s marriage to me. It just wouldn’t work in this story.

And I’m very weird about calling it fanfiction, not because there’s anything wrong with fanfic, but because fanfiction implies a copyrighted source of which there is neither (copyright or a one source) in Arthuriana.

You mentioned in the tags of a post that you're "not one of those people who doesnt like when an ro is jealous and/possessive". I'm very curious about this because this is not a sentiment I'm capable of comprehending. Is it that you don't consider it a red flag, or that you like having red flag ROs in IFs? If it's the former, why, and how even? I get that not everyone has the same red flags, but as far as I'm aware, jealously and possessiveness are universally negative things. Is there a particular reason to want those things in a partner?

well its not that i dont consider them red flags. i 100% do and would never want to have anyone like that in my life.

when i said "im not one of those people who doesnt like when an ro is jealous and/or possessive" i didnt mean it in a way where that behavior is normal and okay, because its not, but i think it adds something interesting to a character when someone else has so much power over them that the mere idea of that person not being solely focused on them is enough to genuinely upset them.

i also meant that i wasn't afraid to write characters like that. I know theres some authors who genuinely don't like writing jealous characters/ros and don't want people asking about it, but im not one of those people. so im more than okay with anyone asking about that stuff<3

This question is in regard to this quote:

I'm confused by this. I may not know what you meant by "access to their heart." To me, it seems to imply that the MC always has romantic feelings for Blake, even in FWB, and it's only Blake who doesn't realize it yet? Or did you mean MC didn't have access to Blake's true feelings, regardless of what MC's feelings are? Is it not possible for the MC to actually *prefer* a FWB relationship independent of whether Blake has romantic feelings or not?

No — if you’re on Blake’s Route then it’ll turn romantic, no matter what — irregardless of the FWB relationship.

If you’re on someone else’s route then you’ll only have a select number of interactions in that manner set in place before it ends — either by yourself or Blake. (You can choose to end it before, of course.)

If you’re not on anyone’s route, I can’t truly say what’ll happen because it’ll spoil things… (Plus, I’m also focusing on the romance routes before the solo one due to the fact that they take up the majority of my time.)

The MC doesn’t always have feelings — although you can choose to play as such — but if you’re on their route then you will uncover that you’re feelings having shifted — just like Blake uncovers theirs has as well.

Perhaps I missed something. Why do people think Matt not being over Eve is a problem? What about feeling emotions makes someone emotionally immature? Also, does it even appear in game at all? I definitely never saw it come up, but that may have just been the choices I picked.

It does appear in game but it's passing mentions from Alex and Eve. It is what it is, Matt is not perfect and I've never claimed him to be.
