This is the popular Gelmer Funicular in the canton of Bern, Switzerland. There are many videos showing that this “ride” goes very fast, but in actuality it is very slow! It does have one of the steepest grades in Europe though. The funicular takes you up to a beautiful, clear blue lake surrounded by mountains with hiking trails. My husband and I hiked around the lake and had a picnic. It was lovely.
