look who got ANOTHER redesign; the Gelusai! Decided to bring back the more polar-bear-ish design. I think i’m hopefully finally happy with their design.
A slice-of-life doodle of a Gelusai grabbing some fuel for a vehicle, maybe a car, maybe a ship, kinda left it ambiguous. Gelusai clothing tends to be simple and favor function over style.
“*ANGERY SQUAWK-YELLING*” “Please don’t wave your claws so close to my face...”
one of the Whirlpool races we haven’t seen in a long time, the Gelusai! Reason i haven’t drawn them much is because I wasn’t happy with their design and didn’t know what to do with it, until I thought, “They live on a cold planet with lots of ice and snow, what if they could belly-slide on ice like penguins?” So I added some penguin into their design, and i think i’m finally happy with it!
They’re basically mammalian penguins lol
Australian Man and Tim Horton as aliens from my personal worldbuilding project! Aussie is a xirsian (essentially space chicken-raptors) and Tim is a gelusai (wolf/polar bear-ish aliens from a frozen planet) Aussie is ranting about something or other, and Tim is both concerned and slightly uncomfortable, but doesn’t wanna say anything for fear of setting him off further.
Y’know how some people “talk with their hands?” Well xirsians talk with their whole bodies, their body language is often very expressive and over-dramatic.
Also fun fact: Aussie is holding his head upside-down, xirsians have their eyes below their mouth line! They have stupidly flexible necks, so they sometimes "flip" their heads as a form of body language or to appear less unsettling to "top-eyed" species, though most just find this even more creepy.
Meet a couple new additions to the Whirlpool galaxy! (the main part of my universe that this blog is gonna focus on for the most part.) The Gelusai (top) and Sixit (bottom) are both native to an iceball planet called Helayochi. The gelusai live in the tundras, and the sixit live in the tropical band around the equator. there’s a third race that live in between, but i’ve yet to draw them oops.
