been fiddling with the designs of our sci-fi setting on and off for a bit, and i think we finally got something, at least for the xirsians-

We're trying to tackle nailing down our alien designs one piece at a time instead of trying to overhaul the whole design in one go so we're less likely to fiddle with specific details forever and ever...

design process[??? probably not the term I'm looking for] under the cut

i think the biggest step in the right direction with these guys was making their eyes look less traditionally "friendly" since one of the xirsians' main things was always that their faces looked "expressionless and staring" to the other sophonts and they way we drew their features [especially their eyes] did NOT reflect that for the longest time-

We're on the fence about participating in Artfight this year, and [[TBH]], we're leaning towards no… Not because we actively don't want to, we actually really do wanna take part, but the way we've been constantly battling task paralysis and burnout lately, it might not be a good idea at this time… Plus trying to cram making refsheets before it starts definitely wouldn't help-

If anyone was looking forward to seeing us on AF, i'm really sorry but this year we just can't...Making this decision really hurts cuz we always enjoy Artfight and we look forward to it every year, but we just can't handle the pressure we always end up putting on ourselves right now...

I’m in the trenches of this right now. 😔

I’m currently emptying a jar of jam so I can fill it with little papers, each written with a hobby I want to do, so I can randomly pull a hobby out each day I can.

Hopefully the random element to choosing a hobby makes me more likely to do it, because for whatever reason I’m averse to doing it if I schedule it on my planner.
