Steven was heavily breathing, he looked up from the sand. How many fights have happened on the beach again? He got attacked, again. He put up his shield and threw the attacker into the sand, Steven looked absolutely annoyed. He was supposed to meet you, but yet! He’s stuck fighting again. Again, again. God, how many times have Steven had to fight and then get late to something with you? As he thinks about it, he kept dodging the attacks until he heard his name getting called.
“Steven! There you are!”
You yelled out, running to him before seeing him get punched in the face. You absolutely looked shocked before looking at whoever did it, you sighed loudly
“Call someone instead of fighting alone!”
“I was getting ready to hang out!”
“Then came trouble.”
Steven put you and him in his bubble which in that bubble he was absolutely checking up on you. Yes he has seen you fight but you were rusty.. you looked tired, annoyed like he was. Steven didn’t want you to be annoyed, tired, looking like you were about to give up!! That isn’t like you, right? That isn’t absolutely like you. But then, the attacker broke the bubble which shook steven out of his thoughts and he almost got attacked before you used your (gw) {gem weapons} and immediately after, you went straight into the attacker’s face. With a sick sick look on your face which.. Steven sorta liked, for whatever reason.. Maybe you annoyed was a good thing??
“It was 6:48. He was walking home.”
You two were immediately hanging out after the fight, acting like nothing happened which was normal for you both. Well it wasn’t normal before but now, with everything you both have been through? It was absolutely normal to act like nothing happened. It was weird though, Steven was acting weird.. well since that little kindergarten thing.. he has been acting weird, you could get it. Everyone is moving on and yet it seems like Steven can’t?? But during the fight, you saw something pink and the attacker getting absolutely knocked out and yet you keep saying nothing.. well what could you say? "hey steven, what was that pink thing?" It could bring back bad memories of him finally learning about his mother or something at least, that what scared you mostly.. you didn’t want to bring up the past at all, the main reason? The way Steven acts about it, the way he has the most traumatic memories, experiences out of everyone.. yea the gems have it bad as well but Steven was a child when it all happened.
Soon after you guys were done hanging out. You two got ice cream and you heard steven talk nonstop about Connie, you ignored that lurking feeling every time he did talk about connie. It’s not jealousy, no it isn’t. You know damn well it isn’t, or is it..? It’s just that.. maybe you like Steven, and he is saying stuff about proposing to connie when they haven’t even—, have they dated in secret or something? God… You quickly got snapped out of your thoughts when Steven said he was going home, He was smiling so happily at you.. how could you not fall in love with him? But then.
“I could walk you home Steven?”
God why did you ask that, maybe he was tired and grumpy or upset! He may be sor-
“I would actually like that!..”
Oh. You smiled, happily but maybe it was laced with confusion at him before walking ahead of him, already knowing where his house is. Afterall everyone in beach city probably knows where steven lives, you heard him catching up. You started to ramble about random stuff during your day that happened, You didn’t catch it but Steven was admiring your face, seeing how adorable it is..
“With the blood on his hand from the broken nose (attacker’s..)”
Steven still remembers him turning pink and absolutely punching the attacker’s nose, or whatever it is really.. he knew it was broken after that really. It wasn’t confusing how it was broken, not at all. But it was weird honestly.. for steven it felt good, maybe it was him being protective, yea that.

Uhm… sooo. I was planning to do everything but i got writer block so quickly omg, but now!!! HERE IT IS<333, im very happy that some people still like steven universe 😭😭 i got too excited bc i like this song and i like steven universe so😞😞 yay!! I have 5 more stuff to do omg, EEK!!
