How to Summon an ENFP
A request from gemancer (I usually don’t do these, by the way. This just happened to be something I thought I could do a lot with). You gave me the option to do any type, so I figured ENFP would be the easiest and most logical for this.
--
With ENFPs being the delightful type that they are, it’s really no surprise that they’d be a popular summon. People summon ENFPs for reasons ranging from the desire to have the deep conversations that can be hard to come by with just anybody on the street to wanting a buddy who’s just as enthusiastic (possibly to contradict the summoner’s lack thereof) about new ideas and enjoying life. With that said, and regardless of your purpose for summoning (as long as it’s pure), let us begin.
Step one: Just as many summonings are performed, the ENFP’s is no different in the sense that a specific X-Y-Z coordinate must be established. Unlike the INTJs, who are rather picky about the design of their alter, the ENFPs seem to be more lenient. Where their interest lies is more so in the tools that were used for the alter.
There have been a considerable amount of successful documentations with simple chalk as the medium, however these were all amateur practices. They may even be rumors. If your budget is low, you may try to create a design with chalk, but do so knowing that makeshift procedures often yield similarly characterized results.
The most recommended approach would be to make a design solely from colored lights. ENFPs are sure to notice and respond to a message with lights as the vessel out of their own curiosity, most likely wondering just exactly how anyone managed to make such a wonderful design with so many different color combinations all strung together.
This does not discount the fact that some ENFPs may enjoy a play on their darker side, however. Contrary to the belief of the novice summoners, ENFPs aren’t always bubbles and rainbows and may even prefer a touch of inspiration from Edgar Allen Poe. Experimentation is all part of the process.
Step two: Curiosity and observational skills are some of the more noticeable traits upon meeting an ENFP. With this being the case, devising a small activity to hold their attention and interest should be a rudimentary expectation for summoning this type. If done right, it will be rather simple, but that does not overlook the fact that this step is imperative to the success of the summoning.
ENFPs can be easier to distract than some of the other types, and, while it isn’t out of nastiness, they may uproot themselves just as they arrive to answer yet another summoning out of their own curiosity! Because of this, it’s been reported that leaving a small scavenger hunt (or anything alike) has done well in preserving their presence.
Leave a single note about the alter that guides them to the next. Of course, this should not be an activity to take the entire day. Allow them to put the pieces of your puzzle together, but keep moderation in mind. If it is too easy, they will feel as if they were babied with their hand held all the way to the end, but if it is too difficult, they’ll probably lose interest.
Step three: The end of the puzzle is where you, the summoner, come into play. Be sure to greet them at the end. Even if you are not the best at communicating, may feel nervous, etc., ENFPs generally have adept people skills. They will know that you put the whole ritual together, after all; words may not even be necessary. Their observational skills will probably have already done most of the talking for you, as they tend to read into actions of others for an idea of the picture as a whole.
Step four: Remember that ENFPs are most commonly the truest form of ambiverts. There is no sure way to know whether they will be entirely motivated for serious human interaction. Though it is likely that they will be receptive to it upon their summoning and puzzle surprise, it’s always safer to prepare for the scenario that they are not receptive. Be sure to be polite, but do not put too much energy into the initial interaction on the off-chance that they would rather just be alone for a while.
Their response to your greeting will likely be enough to tell whether they are or not. If not, be sure to confirm that they do indeed have a place just for themselves should they need to retreat. (You did prepare a hospitable domain, didn’t you?)
If they are enthusiastic and ready for adventure, then congratulations. You’ve successfully found your companion to share exciting experiences with during the day and ponder the abstract and arcane during the night. As many novice summoners seem to forget, ENFPs are just as capable of discussing complex subjects, as they are getting everyone ready for a lively get together.
Step five: Be sure to treat them with respect and take them seriously when they’re being serious. Also, refrain from micromanaging them; they truly do enjoy their independence.
Remember to share your ENFP-summoning-experience with novices or those contemplating a summoning. Distribution of correct information is always helpful to more successful summoning!
