headcanon: the “Gemini!Verse” Underground

I’ve been meaning to make this hc about the Underground in the Gemini!verse AU. Meaning, the more benevolent version of the Underground that the twins co-rule.

They do a few things. Whereas Almas’ Underground in the main verse works to unite all crime organizations together and Elmas’ Underground in the mirror verse helps slaves in corrupt Canterlot, this one is more of a vigilante-type organization.

The twins unite other people working outside the government to fix problems. They also deal with other criminals on a level that Celestia’s government cannot do. Because their activity is illegal too and they use illegal means to reach their ends, they have more wiggle room to take care of business.

But to fund what they do they have to resort to crime as well. Such as smuggling currency and immigrants and being hired to deal with heinous criminals on their own level.

They also try to maintain peace between the demonic sub-culture and the regular world. This isn’t always easy and it sometimes leads to them having to usurp power in some places and place one of their own leaders in their place. For example, the vampire Octavia was put in charge of the Canterlot vampire society after Elmas and Almas removed a more vicious and pony-hating vampire.

Much like Almas holds a hierarchy on the immoral crime organizations of Canterlot in the mainverse, the twins in this verse create balance between other sub-cultures sects, organizations, societies and guilds. So some criminals are aligned with them but most are not the kind of scum that Almas works with in the mainverse. They also fight to dismantle the more dangerous black markets. 

Morally, they’re in between the dark, amoral Underground that Almas runs in the mainverse and the virtuous and idealistic one that Elmas runs in the mirrorverse.

touko would pretend to disown the violent members of her group at first, pretend that gemini is a charity, it’s not an evil team but it wouldn’t take long for the public to realize that yes gemini isn’t a good thing

honestly cheren and bianca would probably realize first because Touko would have slowly cut off contact with them.

Gemini honestly probably would seem prety tame to everyone else but Touko’s ultimate plan is probably something horrible like a hostile take over of Unova, with super harsh laws that basically means any sort of aggression would mean death

plus something, like an energy drink or something that makes people not just less aggressive but sedated almost, with little to no ability to fight back.

which considering touko is super aggressive, violent, and gets even more so the longer she’s in control...

Default vs. Gemini Verse: notes

A few things remain the same as far as character traits, quirks and hobbies are concerned. Since Elmas and Gemini are dead in the Default Verse, Almas has adopted some of his departed relatives’ traits in honor of them. Things he otherwise wouldn’t have if they were alive. That becomes clearer when one examines the Gemini Verse.

For example, Almas utilizes his wealth where he can in Default verse. He has a private flat, several houses in different hideouts, expensive suits and seems to drink only the best wine. But in the Gemini Verse, this trait seems to belong to his sister Elmas instead. In fact, she flaunts wealth more loudly than Almas ever does in the Default verse. Her office shows off her wealth. The Gemini Verse version of Almas is more lowkey about his financial success (though he does still like his expensive suits).

Almas’ keen interest in psychology in the Default Verse (used on anyone but himself of course) transfers to Gemini in the Gemini Verse. She is a psychiatrist when she grows up.

Another interesting thing to note about the twins (Almas/Elmas) is that Elmas is the one all about the business suits in the Gemini Verse. Almas prefers more colorful suits in that verse and his wardrobe expresses a more peacock array of colors.

You once mentioned Ghetsis trying to be the power behind the throne. How much control will he have in Gemini? Also, have you made any OCs or existing characters into admins or enforcers yet?

It depends which is a big thing with Gemini, if I was writing a fanfic I could give you a better idea but I'd like to RP some of it out so...Basically Ghetsis wants to be the power behind the throne, once he realizes that Touko's feelings aren't all hate and murderous rage, depending on if he returns her feelings or if he's just playing with her, that determines his level of power. Not to mention how there Touko is.With an actual relationship, it's pretty much fifty fifty, though Touko might prefer seventy/forty depending on the day. Touko does a lot of the physical stuff, beating the shit out of people, while Ghetsis handles some of the business side, the stuff that involves talking not beating. (this is how it is in the Corrupted verse but)In a he's taking advantage of her, he thinks he has more power then he does. Touko probably knows he's not all in but god she's lonely she needs someone and he's being that for her. Here... he probably eventually ends up murdered.I have not! About the only thing I've got is that at least two of the Admins would be Castor and Pollux, that wouldn't have to be their real names, just code names.Speaking of, Touko's code name would be Helen

What exactly corrupts Touko? Is it the thrill of power and being in charge, or is there an outside force involve? How does she lose her humanity? How far will she go to enforce her ideals on others? Will she ever realize her hypocrisy , or is Unova doomed like it was with Ghetsis?

Basically, will she become worst than the man she once went against.

Can it be everything at once? But seriously, Touko is a child who was neglected, who raised herself, and never actually felt like despite everything that she was ever in charge of anything. She didn’t have a choice when she became a hero or when she fought Ghetsis. 

Gemini is the first time she ever feels like she is actually in charge,  like she has a real choice and she can help real people, kids like her that have been fucked over. 

Yeah being Champion was power, but it wasn’t real power. It was controlled power, controlled by other adults like everything else in her life. She thinks she’s helping, at first at least, but slowly she probably becomes aware she just wants more power, more control.

Depending if she has Ghetsis prisoner or not I’d say he would help a lot with her losing it, he would be trying to get himself out not realizing that making her worse means she would be more likely to try to kill him as she would to release him.

Touko’s humanity isn’t gone all at once, it’s slow, like it’s literally leeching out of her. It’s all of those moments, when she hits a grunt, when she stops having friends, the first time she kills someone. It’s a corruption of power, of a fucked up kid who needed someone to love but instead replaced real love with the fear and respect that her grunts give her.

At first she would just attempt to do everything legally, get kids out of bad situations, but she will force her ideals on people. Despite advocating for less violence and aggression, she encourages her grunts to hurt, to kill, to do whatever it takes to get people on her side.

Gemini is a total a  cult at the end, a cult with Touko at the head and everyone completely believing in what she tells them.

She... might, but at the same time she might just break completely, shut down. Honestly, I’m not sure if she is worse then Ghetsis, or if they’re even.

It depends on how you rank evil, how do you compare Ghetsis’ mental abuse to Touko literally strangling people or beating them to death.
