Amusement Park Shenanigans

A day sunnier than usual, and nothing too major has occurred in a while, so it was decided Shinchirou would check out the amusement park within the city. He’ll need to scope out other locations for anomalies caused by the war. Of course, he doesn’t go anywhere with out his servants in spiritual form.

Despite the temptation, he does not go on any of the rides, simply roam around the park, occasionally buying overpriced food to sustain himself. That was when he noticed an odd group. They appear to be foreigners, based on their hair appearing to be a far more natural blond than what his peers have from bleaching.

The two that appear to be a couple have strikingly similar blond hair color and teal eyes, based on what he can see in the distance. Twins, perhaps? And what of the third guy they appear to be accompanying? Wait a minute, where did he go?

Continuing to walk, he had only blinked for a moment when all of a sudden, he got knocked down by another person.

“Oh! My bad....”

Oh, it’s the third foreigner. Before even having a chance to say anything else, the other two presumed twins have arrived to help them up. That’s when Shinchirou felt a highly familiar presence near them, almost as if these two were like his servants. It makes sense now, this third foreigner must be a master in this grail war, and these two are his servants, as well.

“A...Arthur...?”

Blaring, blinding.. Mocking. The sun deviously snails above the horizon.   It was not tonight.

Last night Scathach chased the future and cast aside the present.. Then the present came rushing back, and she did not die. 

“What is my ‘present?’” A mutter that floats off with the breeze.

“Matou.. Shinji. Matou.. Sakura..” Names which are also carried away. 

She adjusts her position on the park bench, looking away from the sun which had risen up to her eyes. Wind carrying the morning dew continues to blow.. Though the pleasant weather does not match the dead trees and dirt floor. Somehow she is drawn to this place. Grey and homely. The first faces of the morning show themselves at a safe distance. Two cars driving by.

The air changes as if threatening to become liquid - it becomes thick and heavy. The suns acts as if bound by a rope, being dialed backwards into the horizon. Scathach leaps from the bench.  Sccrrrrrreeeeee---- crash!

Mana, a boundary field designed to absorb magical energy. She makes a mad sprint back to the Matou residence, bursting through the door when she gets no answer.

“Damnit!” 

Only the TV plays quietly in the corner. No one’s home. 

Outside, she senses a small magical presence. A familiar.. She goes back through the broken door and catches the bat by its neck. 

It says nothing.

..

She breaks it and discards it on the spot.

To the church, then.

The place looms of a death similar to the park. She swings open the gate.. then the wooden doors of the church.

“Overseer.”

~Team One!  Play Ball In The Park (A Summoning)~

Fuyuki City Park, Afternoon.

It was broad daylight; perhaps it was fitting for someone like Flat.  Upon hearing his Professor was entering the Geminus War in Fuyuki City, Flat had sneaked away without his Professor’s permission to witness the war for himself.

He had no desire to enter a war for himself this time. His plan was to support is Professor if need be, and overall have a good time--he even picked up a bunch of movies at a local store for this occasion!

What he did not know was that the Fuyuki Grail had chosen him as a Master.  Of course,  Flat would be overjoyed to see his prized Command Spells, but only having what looked like a bruise he had gotten, it had gone unnoticed by the boy.

Until--

“Man, this magical energy is awfully thick...!”  And thus, he did what he always did--”fiddle” with it, and “do this and that,” or at least, that is how the boy would describe it--and that is when a miracle happened.

Two figures appeared spontaneously in the park.

He hadn’t prepared a magic circle, nor spoke an incantation, but just like that, there were definitely two Heroic Spirits summoned in the park.   

Flat was speechless, he instantly looked at his hand to see Command Spells in the shape of the sun on his right hand, and back at the two Heroic Spirits he had summoned--

The “impression” he had of the spirits, reminded him of the same “impression” he had of his friend Gray--the modern keeper of Rhongomyniad that the two spirits he had summoned had something to do Arthurian legend.

Had people in the park known about the war, they would wondered what kind of catalyst the boy used to summon such powerful Servants. In his bag, he must have had a powerful relic--

And if he was asked, the boy would just nonchalantly reply: “Ah! It must have been that Monty Python movie I picked up earlier this morning!” 

Professor would be furious that he had become a Master in this war--

But of course, the boy merely smiled brightly and greeted the two Heroic Spirits.

“I’m called Flat!  Let’s be friends okay?!”

Oh crap. Oh crap oh crap oh crap. Where was Siegfried. Where was his Master. Where was literally anyone who could help him. Angra summoned his two blades, and looked at his opponent. Seemed like a Saber. Y’know, big sword, that sorta stuff.

Yet he still managed a cocky grin as he stared down the opposing Servant. “First hit? Ha, hell, c’mon, gimme a chance. I might seem weak, but- I’ll prove how wrong you are.”

His stance was low, defensive, and waiting. His only goal was to stall for time long enough that either Siegfried or Pucci would appear. Likely Pucci.

Shinji sits in front of his TV, very bored, there isn’t anything on.  To relieve the boredom he decides to summon a servant or two for the upcoming grail war.  He digs through some junk in the garage and finds the children’s book Peter Pan and a spear tip, “Well, these will have to do as catalysts,”  

Bringing the items back to the living room, Shinji begins the summoning.

Flat-napping?

 “Gae.. Bolg!”

Scathach stains her blood soaked spear with that of a little girl. She makes sure to get none of it on her dress. Now. the crow of the night leaves its perch, allowing the sun to rise. That, and Shinji is no longer a master in this war.

She breaths a mist sigh of relief as her spear returns. 

‘Next.’

Berkana, a rune carved into stone to be used as a tracker. This time, it only searches for magical signals for a chance at her next target.

The stone follows a trail to an amusement park, bustling now with children on rides and stores selling food as if the night was never there. In the resort now, still following the stone, the dress she took from the Matou’s works nicely to blend her in. 

It’s not long before the stone takes off from the ground and flicks against the back of a boy’s head. He turns around to inspect what had just hit him, and she almost draws a spear out.

Scathach’s shoulders drop and she frowns when she sees his face. Instead, she puts a finger over her mouth for ‘silence’.

‘Come here’ she gestures. 

When he doesn’t move, she flicks another stone at his forehead.

This time Scathach enters the church quietly. The candles Kirei lit before haven’t been extinguished yet, but they do not light up any part of church. They only work to create a large man’s silhouette. She throws Shinji’s hand forward. It bounces on the floor, fleshy and limp.

“Let this be brief, Kotomine Kirei.”
