Summary: you’re Harry’s girlfriend, and you’re meeting Gemma for the first time.
Some pet names used, y/n used once.
Mid june 2012:
You and Harry had been dating for nearly 6 months. Time with him flew by, while also having those slow days at home that felt like eternity. He was a real gentleman in every way, so there was no doubt that your family would adore him just as much as you did. The first time they met he was calm and didn’t display any nervousness, but when it came time for you to meet his family it was a completely different story.
You had already met Anne, his mum, and it went really well. Full of polite smiles and curious conversation. However when it came to meeting his sister you were more jittery than ever, why exactly? No reason at all, nothing negative had ever happened this was just…different. You knew how it was, older siblings making sure younger ones were treated right in relationships.
That’s why you were subtly biting your nails on the way to one of the fancy London cafes they’d picked. And of course he noticed right away, it was a nervous habit of yours.
“You alright?” He said softly, resting his palm on your knee to try and distract from the different scenarios racing through your head.
“Yeah fine” it was a simple reply to try and stop him from pressing further, if you were worried so was he.
“Liar, you’re chewing your fingernails you always do that when somethings up” he wasn’t going to let this go until he got an answer.
“It’s just…what if she doesn’t like me?” It was a completely reasonable worry, especially when it was someone as important as his family.
“She likes everyone, you have to do something seriously wrong for her not to. You’ll be ok honey I’ll be there the whole time” every word he said was reassuring it was always like that.
The car pulled up in front of the cute little cafe, laced with blossoming flowers and happy families. Gemma was sat looking at something on her phone, when Harry broke her from her daze. They exchanged there hellos and then she moved on to you.
“Hey you must be y/n!” Her tone was friendly not judgemental at all.
“Yeah, it’s really nice to meet you” you returned that welcoming lilt in your voice, trying to match the tone of the group.
“He talks about you all the time, and I mean like allll the time!” That shocked you she must already know a lot by now.
“Well only the good stuff I hope!” Your comment was met with a soft laugh from both of them. That was a good sign, the rest of the day went well you had taken a liking to each other. It gave you piece of mind that Harry’s family had excepted you so easily, it gave extra senses of love and acceptance.
This is short and doesn’t have much dialogue cause it’s my first time doing anything like this! But I can write longer ones if anyone ever sees this. This isn’t proof read so there might be a few mistakes. Also there ought be a few words that re repeated loads oops…
