☂ = giving them their jumper to keep warm .
it wasn’t even that cold, but the simple t-shirt gala was currently wearing didn’t help her at all. she kept her arms crossed against her chest, not because she was bothered or anything but because that way she could keep herself a little bit warm. she didn’t even like sports, yet she agreed to go to a baseball game, mostly just to spend more time with gemma who could pretty much make her do anything. even sit through an entire game. she didn’t think the other girl was very into it either, perhaps it was just an attempt to mix it up a little bit and impress her. now that seemed more likely than gemma truly knowing all the aspects of baseball. although, she did comment now and then while gala would just nod in agreement.
the date itself wasn’t bad though, gala truly enjoyed just spending time with the older girl however it was. besides, the people around would say funny things, plus there were good snacks all around the place. really, the only bad thing was the slightly cold weather that was making goosebumps show on her arms. she didn’t want to say anything, scared it’d somehow ruin the date and they’d have to go back or something. but she was glad when gem finally seemed to notice. she offered her sweater that was laying in her lap, and since gem wasn’t even using it gala didn’t feel bad accepting. it was a bit small for her, the sleeves were too short for her longer arms but it was better than nothing. not to mention it totally smelled like gemma, very cliche. “thank you, love.” she said before leaning to press a kiss against her cheek, resting her head on the girl’s shoulder to continue watching the game.
♣ = discovering them crying .
she wasn’t even sure why she was crying. it was more like everything piling up during the last few weeks of the semester until it became too overwhelming. she just wanted to go home and have her mom spoil her. but here she was, miles away by herself, crying in an ugly dorm room with a few assignments waiting to be done. she didn’t even bother to look at her phone, eventually missing a few calls from her girlfriend. the relationship was still pretty new, and she didn’t want to come off as a crybaby and annoy gemma or something. but she couldn’t do much when her girlfriend ended up knocking at her door, concern was clear in her voice.
now gala felt guilty, for not even thinking about answering before. she wiped off the tears from her eyes, but she must have done such a poor job because as soon as she opened the door, the girl in front of her could tell right away. she stepped right in, greeting gala with a very tight hug, asking a lot of questions. it was inevitable, tears came running down her cheeks along with a small little pout. she refused to tell gem what was wrong, as she felt it was a very dumb reason. but she reassured her it was nothing to worry about. instead of talking more about it, gala pulled the girl with her to the twin sized bed, just wanting to be held. it was a small bed, but so were they as they cuddled very close together.
☁ = being caught in the middle of a storm with them .
gala was excited to show gemma around her hometown, to show her off to all her friends and family but most importantly show her all the cool and nice places gala would usually spend her time at, and of course, there was always time for the more touristic places too. it’d been a successful day, they went to the buckingham palace so gemma could take some pictures like the dork she was, then went to meet some gala’s friends before going for dinner. gala also managed to take her to a few nice pubs in the city. they didn’t stay too long there though, as they were both tired and it was getting rather late.
everything was going quite well, that was until it started to rain on their way back to gala’s house. they were walking, of course. because the city was just as beautiful in the night and because it wasn’t too far from there. but the rain just made it worse. it wasn’t just a simple rain, but a storm. “we should just dance, gemma. it’s the perfect set for a romantic movie.” gala suggested as they walked close together, holding onto their own coats because of course neither of them had an umbrella. “shut up.” gem said as she kept walking, clearly feeling grumpy because of the turn of events.
