Amethyst: Who is the Comfort Character™ of your wip

FSF - Ooh a lot of them but Raven and Snow are the ones I'm always coming back to, and I currently have the most written for them (it's mostly angst :3)

TCIO - Chase, my sarcastic cynical blunt as hell son. Also Kylee and Nickelle. My aspec babies. I love the whole cast (excpet for Jason, he can rot in hell), but those three are my faves.

GD - Corie. I don't have much written yet but what I do have written is from her POV. My angry little bounty huter baby who thinks she doesn't need people, you'll learn.

Carnelian: Does the story have a lesson to learn? What is it?

FSF - ooh yessss yes yes yes. Overall for the entire series, the 'lesson' is how to live with trauma and shitty things happening in your life, and healing with found family.

TCIO - lots of stuff, but the big one is that everyone is dealing with shit, and forgiveness (not just for others, but most importantly for yourself), while still keeping yourself safe and holding people accountable. Also how human connection can redeem people and is the most healing thing in the world

GD - No one is meant to be alone. Find your people, your tribe, family that you choose and feel safe with- that is what everyone is meant to do. No one is better off completely isolated, no one is destined to be alone. You will find your family, your people.

Ruby: Is there any symbolism used in your wip?

FSF - I'm still figuring this one out because I'm a very direct person and it's hard to not just say exactly what I mean. But I do know that I'll stars and the night sky at one point (hence the name), and that how people die and what effects are left after they come back will be important. Who knows, maybe I'll find it along the way or in editing I'll realize I'm accidentally a genius.

TCIO - similar to above, I'm still figuring out the details, but I do know what I want to use: Nickelle's powers. Her powers are gonna be a big one, especially how they chance with her mental state

GD - I don't have this one developed enough yet to even have an idea. Maybe Hades himself and his powers, but we'll find out when I actually develop it more and figure more shit out.

Hello my dear! I hope you're having a nice weekend :) Citrine- What's the best compliment or comment you've ever received on a piece you created? Firstly I'm blown away by some of the comments I get like...did we read the same thing? 😂 But every single one is incredibly appreciated and loved and usually hilarious too and I hope whoever reads this knows that (HUGS) One that always stands out to me is from @ladyofthestayingpower on a fluff drabble I wrote called The Thank You Note. She said: The approach to these moments is almost meditative. It was like sitting and studying a work of art, but not a huge work in a crowded gallery, more like a miniature work in a private viewing room. Every detail is so mindfully noted and savored. Like...that's poetry. Beautiful. I was in the park with my dog when I read it and screamed😂 Garnet - Who are some creators you admire and what do you admire most? Oh wow - that's a LOT. I'm literally just going to pick a few who inspire me on a daily basis because they are absolute idols. @gigglingtigger - your dialogue. I admire how you capture the soul of a character in a flicker of the eyes, a dart of a tongue, a line that slays and says more than words. Phenomenal. Also you don't take any shit and I appreciate that. @coldnique @fictive-sl0th @holdmytesseract and all my other english as a second language friends - you amaze me. I have LITERALLY NO IDEA HOW YOU DO IT. Your work is PHENOMENAL and I bow down to your bilingual skills. @simplyholl and @mochie85 Not only do our fantasies align, but I love how you both just do not give one single fuck. I admire the honesty and tenacity and pure creativity of your writing, the ideas and tropes you always manage to put your own spin on - and I hope I can emulate that fire in some way. Pearl- Answered here :) Rose Quartz - My favourite comfort creation (mine/someone elses) The Thrown series by @maple-seed is a comfort fic wrapped in a comfort fic. And it even has a dog. I love it more than I can say. Literally when I'm about to start bleeding from my eyeballs from work stress, I'd flip on the next chapter and suddenly all was right with the world.

Amethyst: Who is the Comfort Character™ of your wip

Normally it SHOULD be the main character right? Like that's a thing that's normal and good?

But instead it's this scruffy man

Not symbolism per se but more of 'Smaller stories mentioned within the book that relate to other character's story arcs'

CITRINE  Citrine represents generosity. What is the best compliment or comment you’ve ever received on a piece you’ve created?

This is difficult to answer, because I have received a tremendous number of absolutely wonderful comments. I've really been blessed in this department. I'm not exaggerating when I say I could not pick one. You yourself are a source of several comments that have legitimately had me looking like this:

A specific example that immediately comes to mind was a particular line that @gigglingtigger referred to as "stone cold gorgeous writing" and that has stuck with me. That one would definitely be in my comment trophy case if I had such a thing.

Early on, one of my first encounters with @loopsisloops was her writing an essay in the comments on AO3, it was one of the first really detailed responses I had gotten to the story and she hit on so many little things I was trying to communicate, it really made me feel like maybe this was working out. There was another time, I had posted a new chapter and she came into my DMs with her capslock on, repeating the last line of the chapter with deteriorating coherency. I said to myself "Okay, yeah, that one landed." 😂

I have to stop here because I really could go on forever with all the nice things people have said to me and I appreciate every single one. I created a tag specifically for me to be able to look back at posts that particularly touched me: #my heart

MORGANITE  Morganite is associated with innocence, joy, peace, and confidence. How would you compare yourself now with yourself when you began to create?

Comparing myself to when I started writing, it wasn't terribly long ago so I think the biggest change is simply how much more involved I am with the community. It's been the best part of all this, I think, meeting these wonderful, talented people and sharing our stuff with one another. When I first came to tumblr I did not know what I was doing and I was very anxious about interacting and it took me a long time to get over the anxiety of commenting/reblogging on other people's posts (because who would want to hear my stupid opinion?) and I give a lot of credit to the SAS for helping me get over that because if we're posting a dozen gifs specifically about one man's thighs then I should probably worry less about all this. 😂

Comparing myself now to when I began to create in general would take a much longer time to detail because that was decades ago. Those two people are only just barely related, lol.

EMERALD  It was believed that emerald could assist in seeing the future. What future pieces or ideas do you look forward to writing the most?

There are several future chapters of Thrown that I'm very excited about, some of which I will be writing soon. There's also the end of that story on the horizon which I'm mostly excited about.

Aside from Thrown, I've had a few ideas for oneshots just to see if I'm even capable of writing a story in less than 100k words. 😅 One in particular is a smut piece with, you'll never believe this, only one bed. No promises that it ever gets published because I've never written smut before so it could end up a hot mess that just sits in my drafts forever.

I look forward to writing for Mayari again. I have a plan...just not execution. Also, I have a piece coming up shortly, a sequel to Poker Face.

PEARL  Pearls can take any amount of time from six months to years to form. What does the typical creative process look like for you, from clam to shining pearl?

It really depends. Some of my series take months for me to write out. I have four ongoing series right now that I've stopped working on because I want to do them justice. I don't like rushing, so if I don't feel like writing, then it stays in it's little corner of the internet.

Some one-shots take me less than a day. My most recent one Lightyears was inspired by the nonny who requested it. It only took me a couple of hours from concept to post.

Okay. I have cut out a lot LMAO I am telling you, the amount of characters this story previously had during the start of the outlining stage... But there is one tho that really hurt me. I had this character before that was even planned to be part of the ROs. They were also a detective who worked closely with the MC, but was very hesitant to interact with the MC before because of their reputation within the force (the MC was very much hated by their coworkers). I ended up removing them, obviously, because tbh, one RO having such a clear involvement with the MC’s past is enough (yes, I’m talking about Wesley). It was really hard, though. Although, I can still say this. You will meet some of the former coworkers the MC had (tho not in a friendly manner)

Tiger’s eye

This is hard. So hard. I’ll just describe them a little, is that fine? I didn’t really set a definite character trope into each of them so djaskdjsakl

Alonzo: enemies to lovers, yeah? As an individual tho, barring the hatred they have for the MC--which again, has a reason behind it, they’re very caring and always seeking justice for the people who deserve it. 

Wesley: friends to lovers? friends to enemies to lovers? the sort of character who keeps trying to make things better but ends up making things worse (well, aside from this one decision....)

Owen: shy and very kind to a fault, but not afraid to confront people when there is a need to do so. (sometimes a little too much)

Jade: magnificent rebel who’s got way too many mistakes to correct.

Thank you Zoya, it's so good to hear from you! I'm thinking of the characters from QBOB for this one.

I think... because there are so many "main characters" it's difficult to write for all of them. Like, I've found there's sometimes a point of view that I've favored a lot a couple chapters in a row. Lydia and Cyrus I don't think have their own POVs, or if they do, that was the most difficult to write because they were most likely severely underdeveloped. However, my writing style has changed since I wrote those parts, and I'm excited for when I get to edit to go back to add POV writings and change what's awkward and difficult. But also not bad for only 2/8 characters to be the most difficult to write XD
