Jess scurried up to Gen's door, a heavy bag in her hand. Knocking quickly, she hoped she wasn't too late to give Gen her birthday gift. When the door opened, Jess cried out "Happy Birthday!" quickly wrapping Gen up in a big hug before hopping back and holding out the bag,
"That's tequila for tonight, pretty spendy but definitely worth it,"
"Tylenol for the hangover tomorrow,"
"And of course, a gift for Mr. Niddles as well. Oh! And last but not least," she pulled a small green box out of her pocket,
"It's a jade necklace from New Zealand. The twist symbolizes two persons friendship and no matter if they move away, they're paths will cross again. And the spiral at the bottom is called a Koru and it symbolizes growth, harmony, and new beginnings." she smiled.
"Damn," Gen mused as she pulled out the tequila. "Definitely worth it," she rubbed her lips together. "That'll be gone by tonight."
She laughed at the Tylenol and the bow for her little nugget who sat by the girls in the hallway. Before she had a chance to thank her, Jess pulled out another gift from her pocket. Gen sat down the bag to hold the necklace in her palm. It was beautiful and as Jess explained details a bright thankful smile spread upon her lips. "Jess," Gen held the necklace to her heart and pulled her into another hug. "Thank you so much."
Happy Birthday Gennie!
Paty was positively hysterical about the day. She hadn’t spent one of Genie’s with her for years now, so she was planning to spoil her friend as much as her wallet allowed. When she saw the birthday girl, she hugged her tight and happily before she asked to sit, so she could give her her presents.
”Firstly, something I always thought you’d love to have for notes, thoughts.. anything really,” Paty explained, handing Gennie a small wrapped-up gift:
”Also, I got you this, so you can never be late again,” Paty grinned, handing Gennie a small box:
”And well… don’t kill me please, I promise that we can go on jogs but I got us a bazillion of these,”
”And candles, of course.” She grinned, lightening the candles so they could sing Gennie happy birthday. Once Gennie blew out the candles, Paty hugged her tight again and then she stole a cupcake with a grin.
”Now, birthday girl,” She said happily “Let’s head dressed and go out for a fun night!”
Gen gushed over the gifts holding her heart and hugging them close to her. "Paty, you really didn't have to do this. I love them so much! Thank you!" She hugged her friend back and smiled as they sang happy birthday. A cupcake later she stood and ran up stairs to change into a cute party dress that hugged her curves and stopped mid thigh. The clock locket Paty had just gave her was the last little touch to her birthday outfit. One last look in the mirror Gen smiled running her hands through her hair, taming the curls that fell around her shoulders. "I'm ready!" Gen beamed grabbing a small jacket by the door. Paty joined her and she wrapped an arm though hers. "Seriously, thank you for this Paty. It means the world to me."
