“Your sister came to my house at, like, three am?” Hayden’s eyes twisted in horror. “And, no, before you get started, it was not a booty call.” 

Hayden breathed a sigh of relief. 

“She was worried, Hayden.” Her eyes twisted in guilt. “She was desperate and you didn’t leave a note?” There was a nagging touch of incredulity to his tone.

“I know, I just needed to get out, Caleb.”

“I get that, I really do, but you need to tell your family. They’re worried sick.”

“I’m an adult, Caleb.”

“And that doesn’t stop you from being responsible for your actions.”

“I don’t need a lecture, Caleb. I was going to head home after breakfast anyway.”
