I was doing some thinking last night and I realized something
I don’t think Demigirl fully describes me
I have come up with a new term to describe my gender: Genderclose
Here’s how I experience my gender
My gender is to girl as Pegasus is to Hercules. Pegasus’s main defining trait is his proximity to Hercules, being related to Hercules is some way, but he isn’t actually physically Hercules in any way.
I imagine my gender as being a blob off to the side of “girl”. It’s a tiny little speck of female-adjacent material alongside a void of nothingness that doesn’t really have a definition, not gendered or genderless, just empty space.
I was going to call it “neargender”, but since that’s already a thing I went with genderclose instead.
So I’m girlclose.
I made some flags too
The red and purple are the colors adjacent to pink, a stereotypically girly color, along with black to represent the rest of the empty void that makes up the gender. the boyclose flag follows the same rule but for blue. The genderclose flag itself is a small circle, representing the gender that it’s close to, and a bigger circle representing the blob next to it that represents the gender itself.
If anyone else uses this, I assume it’s mostly for neurodivergent people since I think that’s what makes me feel this way about my gender, but neurotypical people could use it too if it fits.
