For as long as the star can recall, wishes were all it heard. The other stars were so very far away, too far to hear. Even so, every night somewhere or another, someone would wish upon a star. Wishes upon wishes upon wishes. It was the only company they knew. And yet the star was never alone. These voices, these wishes, it was a connection she held to all that existed. Wasn’t that beautiful in and of itself? Even so… there was one wish they had, only one. To return the favour. To grant the wishes of those who kept them company, of those who were unable to grant it themselves, of those who wished upon a star. Day by day, hour by hour, second by second, it wished upon the world below to grant wishes. To bring happiness. To bring some light. Then came another wish. It was so much stronger than the others, so much desperation in a single sentence, a wish upon a star. The star wished, more than anything else in that moment, to grant it. To bring some relief to the one screaming to the cosmos. But then they were falling. Falling, falling, falling, falling. This was it! This was their chance! Excitement rushed through xem as he reached the Wisher. Asha. A revolution was to be made, a new hope for those under the cruel Magnifico’s rule. The star believed in Asha’s abilities, she was their new hope. If she could wish ae down, give em a chance to do what they have always wished for, then she could do the same for the others. And the star would be right by her side. Magnifico was a terrifying opponent, yet they had hope. Everyone had hope. Just as they were making a real change, just as all was about to come true… a light blinded them all. Or maybe only the star, it can’t quite remember. All xe knew was when they next opened their eyes, she was no longer in Rosas. It turned to look for Asha, she must also be here yet… there was no Asha to be found. Someone nearby with a wish for escape (escape from what?) asked if the star was a st-oo-dent. It could only look on in confusion, yet no answer came from the wannabe escapee. He found his way out of the library but a part of her wants to return. Ze doesn’t know why yet, only that a certain bookshelf calls out to em. They learnt soon after their departure they cannot enter if they aren’t a st-oo-dent which means… that bookshelf is out of sight for now. A couple weeks have passed since then, the star hasn’t learnt much yet. It conflates the customs she learnt in Rosas with the ways of Swynlake and yet none of it is right. Still, the wishes are so loud here, so obvious… and he can’t grant any of them. Maybe they can find a way home and a way to grant wishes at the same time. It’s gotta be possible, right?
