Hey! How are you? Just wanted to know: Personally, what you think are the female, male and gender neutral classes? And what are the passive and active pairs?
Hey :D I’m feeling better now that my cold calmed down, thanks for asking <3 (Also thanks for the follow! I really appreciate it! <3)
I don’t think any classes are gendered. ((A while ago, Hussie actually came out and said females could be Princes, a class that was previously thought to be a male-exclusive class, which threw the idea of gender-exclusive classes out the window. So you can totally see a female Bard, alongside a stunning codpiece)).
But I do think the society you come from and that society’s attitudes on gender and gender roles might effect your class + aspect. So far, only women have been given the Space aspect - Jade and two Jade Blood trolls. In traditional human societies, women were the care-takers; they created life through birth, and then cared for that life. In troll society, Jade Bloods cared for the grubs and the Mother Grub. So a prerequisite for being a Space player might be coming from a society where you were expected to be a care-taker of some sort.
I also posted what I think male sylph and a male witch godtier would look like.
I define Passive/Active classes as:
Passive - one who invites aspect
Active -one who X with aspect
The X can be to Understand, Exploit, Manipulate, Steal or Create.
Not all Passive/Active classes are as Passive/Active as each other. I define a Mage as an Active class, but because they Understand/Learn through their Aspect they’re probably the most passive of the active classes. I define a Heir as Passive but they’re really active in-game, making them the most active of the passive classes.
Passive doesn’t mean they aren’t capable in combat, but it does look like more Passive classes then Active classes devote themselves to the people around them - like Rogues.
Thief-Rogue - Pretty obvious. Thieves steal actively for themselves while Rogue steals or invite the stealing of their aspect for others.
Maid-Sylph - Maids and Sylphs both create with their Aspect (Aradia creating Time and using it to freeze Jack), but Sylphs are more passive in that they are a healing class.
Prince-Bard - A Prince actively destroys with their Aspect like Bards cause destruction more through their own stupidity, or in more cunning ways.
Witch-Heir - Witches actively manipulate their Aspect, even twisting the rules of their Aspect, while Heirs, though active, are swept along by their Aspect.
Mage-Seer - both Understanding/Learning classes, but Seers use their knowledge to guide passively while Mages act on the knowledge they’ve been given.
Knight-Page - Both tank classes, but for different reasons. Knights exploit their aspect and use it as a weapon; Pages do this to, but more passively, and invite the exploitation of their aspect. Pages also take a lot longer to become skilled + powerful with their Aspect, while Knights jump straight in and start messing with shit immediately.
The most Passive class is the Seer, while the most Active is the Witch.
