I just realized something (trans posting lol)
when i was first gendered correctly by a stranger in public, it was during covid and i was wearing a cat mask. I was a fucking cat boy when i was first ever gendered correctly by a stranger.
The other day I booked a hotel with my title set as Mr.
It's not my first time. People usually ignored it. If needed, I could say I made a mistake.
As I was checking in, the receptionist took one look at the system, and said: Mr <full name> ?
I nodded.
And then, and then, she proceeded to call me Sir for the rest of the check in process.
This is one of the best euphoria moment, considering anything remotely LGBTQ is censored here and crossdressing can be criminalised. It's a big hotel in the biggest city, which is somewhat better for queer people, but for someone to hear my voice and call me Sir?
It's euphoria, but there's a sort of contentment, sort of like - all is good. And I get a confidence+5 for the rest of the day, and gave me a little more energy to push me towards the legal grey area of transitioning.
On my walk to work a teenage girl stopped me and was like, "I'm sorry, this is kinda weird, but you're a girl, can you see if I have anything on the back of my pants?" So I looked and saw nothing there. "Yeah, I don't see anything. What were you expecting to be there?" I asked. She said, "I just started my period and I don't have the right stuff on." I gave an empathetic "oh, I'm sorry," and I looked one more time at the back of her pants. "No, I think you're good. I don't see anything." She thanked me and we walked off in different directions. Afterwards I felt so VALIDATED. Like she not only read me as a woman but also felt comfortable to ask me for help with a very personal and cis-centric issue she was having. Anyway, it just was nice and she'll never know how much that meant to me. I hope she got home safe without any incidents. :)
Omg
I got gendered correctly today?? Like I got on my bus and a kid came on and started going on about how a "big boy" was in the front (I always sit in the front of the bus because fuck sitting all the way in the back?) And I've never been so happy. Like this little kid called me a boy??? Im so happy
me: :|
boy among the mass of children I held the door open for: why am I the only one who's ever thanked this little *gentleman*?
me: :)

My brother use he/him pronouns for me today.. Like he corrected himself and everything. I wanted to cry I was so happy I hugged him, he's really making an effort. I'm so happy.
Note to self
Wear pony tail more often to work. Every single customer genders you correctly.
