Hey all! Sorry I’m slow. This post is to give a general list and description of the voices we need! If you would like to audition: pick your top 3 characters, say hello and give us a name to know you by (it can be fake or an internet name!) record yourself giving evidence to your vocal abilities, choose a passage or set of lines to read (from the story or elsewhere), and have fun! It would be preferable to have as clean a recording as possible, but we’re more interested in you right now! One person having multiple roles is a good possibility!
Some more notes here quick; if you can sound like the original character, awesome! If not, don’t stress! Do your best! Try one take as an impression and one as your own voice! This is all for fun so anything will be amazing! Too many exclamation points maybe!!
Olivia: Leading Lady - independent, young, likely PTSD, spirited, strong, flirty, cares (too) deeply, cocky
Alistair: Main Male - goofy, loves puns and terrible jokes, young, often easily distracted, uses humor to distract from problems, terribly awkward in certain social situations
Cullen: Partner to Alistair - Grumpy, PTSD, recovering lyrium addict, practically a luddite
Luana: Elven lawyer - light, foreign, sweet-mannered, one of those people you would not want to see the dark side of
Leliana: Co-worker and best friend to Liv - mischievous, foreign, graceful, looks like a cinnamon roll but could actually kill you
Dorian: Friend and confidante to all - foreign, self-assured, confident, almost aloof, charming
Morrigan: Owner of The Crossroads - strong, doesn’t much care for people, highly intelligent, sounds like she has more knowledge than anyone else could know and is keeping it to herself, often speaks with contempt
Fergus: Brother to Liv - newly burdened with responsibility of his family’s estate, loving, not as confident as he sounds
The Iron Bull: Private eye - deep voice, gravelly, sounds relaxed and nonchalant with the world he’s a part of (gruesome as it is)
Oriana: Wife of Fergus - a modern noble lady, organized, respectable
Oren: Son of Fergus and Oriana - young boy, content, spirited
Duncan: Adopted father to Alistair - elder man, ill, very worldly, intelligent, kind
Zevran: Friend to Alistair - highly confident, foreign, playboy-esque, charming, heavy flirt, sinnamon roll
Isabela: Mysterious friend to everyone - smooth voice, flirty, charming, sly
Cassandra: Department head - leader, foreign, cautious, strict
Blackwall: Fellow detective - deeper voice, almost secretive, (personally reminds me of Nick Offerman)
If we love you, the call-back will likely be to read certain passages from the story itself. Maybe through Discord if you’re willing! For anyone who wants a pre-marked piece from the story for each character, it’s coming! Right now though, get to recording and have fun!
