is there anything you can tell us about a group known as the destructons and/or one Lord Imperious Delirious?
Lord Imperious was once the ruler of the Cybertronian Colony of Akkarr, a world that suffered from resource deprivation due to expansion efforts elsewhere in the cosmos. True to his name, he was cruel and willing to destroy even the loyalest of his citizens for even the slightest tinge of an insult. As you can imagine, this was only really sustainable until the widespread protests turned into a full-blown revolution, and he had to make a getaway on a private shuttle.
It was during this escape when he ran into Overlord's forces. Imperious called himself the rightful ruler of Akkarr, and begged Overlord for his aid in crushing the revolution that cost him his throne... and this amused Overlord enough that Imperious was put into a low-tier military position and given the new name Delirious.
To everyone's surprise, Delirious was strikingly competent in his duties, earning the respect of his superiors and the loyalty of his soldiers in spite of his demeanor, and soon he rose to the ranks as General Delirious, commander of the Destructon Legion of Combatron, and member of Overlord's council.
Unfortunately, he grew too big for his britches and decided to take a period where Overlord had been searching for a certain weapon to declare Overlord unfit for leadership. In a smaller organization, bots like this would be scolded for their lack of restraint, possibly yelled at for their lack of foresight, and left to ruminate on their mistakes or, more often, scheme again. Overlord, however, was leading an army several star systems strong, with plenty of other generals and other possible leaders, and he didn't exactly tolerate treachery when the schemer was replaceable.
Most believe he died that day, and the Destructons were either led by a more humble leader from their own ranks or outright disbanded and absorbed by other legions. But every so often, a conspiracy theory comes up, and some bots wonder if the Destructons are still active if only as a small group in the edge of the cosmos... or if Delirious had a backup plan should his ambitions cost him dearly.
