Stand firm. My husband literally only asks for Monday's off, he'll even work 6 days as long as he has Monday's because that's usually my only day off. He always goes immediately to the supervisor or manager and let's them know they fucked up, even if I'm not working the day he got off. He can't let them assume that it's okay if he doesn't say something. You got this. Don't let them bully you.

thanks bb i really appreciate it. im gonna talk to them again, i just feel like bad an inherently needy when i have to keep talking to them about it but at the same time i wouldn’t have to be needy if you just paid attention to my availability? like i know there’s a lot of people who work there but also it shouldn’t be my job to fix it when you mess up? idk i have a lot of mixed emotions

I think it’s going to be ok. The tornado watch has been canceled, but we’re still under the flash flood warning. It’s rained pretty hard for quite awhile.

As a stage manager I freaking haaatteeeddd directors that couldn’t let go. Like trust yourself, trust your actors, trust your crew. Its okay.

I'm also working box office for about half of the performances so like, I'll be able to hear the damned thing plenty of times. And I may go in and see it one more time later in the run but that's usually it for me.

As a stage manager I have had to ask directors to leave the booth or backstage before. It's awful. Your job is done on opening night, you can't fix everything. Just go have a life.

It’s kind of both.  It’s  not like we don’t need the money but I wasn’t getting scheduled much because of my availability, and the last time I worked I realized that I just can’t keep up with the physical demands anymore.  Plus they started using this awful automatic air freshener in the dressing rooms and it is apt to either my asthma or a headache.  

So I’m going to focus on my shop and work a minimum of 20 hours a week on that.
