Can taxes ever be generous?
We may have been tempted to answer no to this question that was until we read about the fair tax proposed by the Ethical Consumer and Tax Research UK.
Having joined forces to pioneer a revolutionary accreditation scheme that would reward businesses that pay a fair amount of tax the scheme is designed to;
“Encourage consumers to buy from companies that pay a fairer rate of tax thereby putting pressure on tax avoiders to instigate more socially aware tax policies and more transparent tax reporting.”
Having the mark would allow consumers to recognise businesses that operate to the scheme’s guidelines and in theory allow businesses to be more transparent and thus empower consumers to make more informed decisions when choosing who they buy from.
What do we think - a welcome step in the right direction for generous consumption or too much too soon for ethical business?

Until next time keep it generous.
