Rick Jones will be a guest on The Watchdog (98.1 FM WKKX and 97.7 FM WVLY) at 2 p.m. this afternoon to discuss the school district’s ongoing bond projects and what is still to come.
Road Near Mil Acres.
Mil Acres Drive - located in the Elm Grove section of Wheeling will be closed from 1-5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27 between the Elm Grove the Elm Terrance Shopping Center and the Kruger Street Bridge. This closure is needed to make repairs to a nearby pump station.
BOE Candidate Forum.
A “Meet the Ohio County Board of Education Candidates” forum is scheduled for March 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 3536 Eoff Street in South Wheeling. The forum is sponsored by the OCEA, the ATF, and the WVSSPA.
Ohio Route 7 Closure.
The West Virginia Division of Highways advises that from Tuesday, March 3 through Friday, March 6, the right Southbound lane of Ohio Rt. 7 will be closed during daytime hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) to allow for signage installation. This closure will run between the North 5th Street Exit in Martin’s Ferry and the US 250 Exit in Bridgeport. Motorists are advised to be alert for changing traffic patterns and expect delays. Any questions or concerns regarding the I-70 Bridges Project can be directed to the hotline at 304-810-3214. For additional information regarding this project, please visit www.i70forward.com. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
Run to the Pub!
Generation Wheeling will hold a pub run on Friday, March 20 from 5:30 pm to 11:00pm to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The event check-in will start at 5:00 pm on the third floor of River City, with the run starting at 5:30 pm. For $30, you'll receive a drink at each stop on your route, as well as a celebratory drink and appetizers at the after party at River City. The first 200 people who register are guaranteed to receive a commemorative beer stein and headband! If you are not into running or walking in the routes, you can still sign up for the after party at River City! There will be plenty of good music, beer, and excitement!
