Some front end and fender details: I added a down tube gusset to give extra strength against front end impacts on rough dirt roads. The custom fork has wiring guides that cleanly (and accessibly) take the headlight's wire down to the front generator hub (the super bright headlight is all pedal powered by the front hub). The front fender is mounted daruma style- to do so the stainless washer at the bottom of the fork steerer was bent around a wooden form to have a tidy fit. Between that washer and the fender (and on the rear fender bridge fender mts) are leather washers that allow the fender just a little give, as opposed to mounting them directly/rigidly which makes vibration rattle them loose. The fenders are spaced carefully to allow larger tire and wheel sizes (these are 650b x 42 on now) without having to mess with the fender setup. The spacer for the rear seatstay bridge is machined out of a salvaged titanium saddle rail- it makes for a light, strong and corrosion proof spacer... while salvaging scrap material.
