a concept: all of the vld characters exist irl. what would they do?
ooooo alright assuming they’re still the ages-ish they are now:
lance hunk and keith are seniors in high school
lance has a million siblings and bc of that he’s Ready for college. his parents helped him left and right with college apps and scholarship apps and his older siblings read over his essays (that he wrote last minute bc thanks a lot procrastination). also he has senioritis Bad and even though he’s taken a bunch of easy classes and has early release whenever he gets assigned homework he can feel his willpower to do anything Melting Away. also even though he has early release sometimes he stays after school anyway to watch keith at xc/track practice and then drive him home so he doesn’t have to walk [this idiot doesn’t quite realize he’s Pining and also Whipped]
keith doesn’t even know if he wants to go to college but his friends forced him to apply just in case for when he makes up his mind. he’s on the cross country/track teams bc he’s good at running and doesn’t have anything better to do. and he probably has some sort of part time job too, like at a coffee shop or a bookstore or a walgreens tbh. his friends come and pester him at work [lance the most] and he rolls his eyes and tells them to go away but really he loves it
hunk is highkey Panicking about college he doesn’t want them all to get separated and lose touch etc etc but lance is half convinced they’re gonna end up going to the same college anyway plus he knows they’re all close enough to come home for breaks and live it up like no time’s passed at all. hunk’s ofc in a bunch of APs (probably too many, senioritis is Killing him) but he’s also taking some fun electives like tech ed and creative writing
pidge skipped a few grades in elementary school and is a junior now but she’s graduating early so she’s also going off to college. in fact she’s probably already accepted at awesome schools thanks to the fact that she’s a prodigy and has won obscure competitions her inventions. she’ll probably end up following her friends to college though - she doesn’t really care to go to some big prestiges school anyway, she just wants to learn and be with the friendos (though matt keeps telling her to apply to harvard)
shiro’s out of college but living at home with keith. he has some sort of Adult Job but idk adult jobs so that’s for him to figure out. he’s supportive of whatever keith wants to end up doing but he has a Feeling he knows where keith’s gonna and up going (wherever a certain brown haired, blue eyed, flirty idiot named lance goes). also probably has a cat. like keith tolerates the cat even though it doesn’t seem to like him very much but the cat is shiro’s Whole World, that’s why he goes to work and gets a paycheck and shit
allura’s doing something cool and badass. she has a lot of money saved up bc of her rich (dead) parents and hasn’t had to worry about student loans or any of that jazz. she’s like that person that’s good at everything you wish you’d done when you were younger and now feel too old to do (dancing, gymnastics, volleyball, piano, etc...)
coran probably owns a cool little shop that The Gang ends up frequenting. people wonder how it’s even open because nobody ever sees anyone go in there, and yet the items continue to disappear and get replaced by newer, stranger items
