At Kyoto Nippon Fes 2023, the Important Cultural Property, tachi Onikirimaru (Higekiri), owned by Kitano Tenmagu Shrine, will be exhibited!

At the same time, the Important Cultural Property, tachi Usumidori (Hizamaru) will also be exhibited at the Autumn Treasure Exhibition in Daikakuji Temple!

To celebrate the occasion, official illustrations of the Touken Danshi, representing each sword, have been revealed.

Hello!! May I have some genji brothers and child saniwa headcanons? Rewatching the genji bros musical reminded me how much I love them,,, Thank you very much 💖

Genji Brothers with Child Saniwa (GN!Reader)

♡ The Genji Brothers are two sides of the same coin. One side is the easy going, have fun brother and the other is the worry wort brother.

♡ TO BE FAIR, Higekiri maybe is a little... TOO easy going.

♡ "Ani, where is saniwa?" "They said they wanted to cook me something so probably cooking." "WHAT"

♡ Higekiri sometimes forgets how easy it is for a child to hurt themselves but quickly learns when they fall one day and start crying.

♡ He instantly felt bad and wrapped them in his arms to console them.

♡ After that, he is more careful and won't let the saniwa get away with just doing anything.

♡ Still pretty easy going though because he knows with experience, they will learn. Plus, life is suppose to be fun and full of adventure.

♡ Hizamaru HATES seeing his saniwa crying.

♡ If they are hurt, Hizamaru is playing doctor and putting on a show until he can make them stop crying and laugh.

♡ But he is also weak to the saniwa's crying and puppy eyes-

♡ "Aruji, no cookies before dinner. You won't eat your dinner then....... I guess one wouldn't hurt-"

♡ Higekiri and Hizamaru would stay with the saniwa until they fell asleep. Often times reading a book to them and acting out the scenes together.

♡ That probably keeps them up more than anything though....

♡ Hizamaru has a thing for horror stories so if the saniwa really wants to hear one, he is going to obey their wishes.

♡ Higekiri probably will find himself under the covers instead, trying to get away from the story...

♡ Higekiri often forgets Hizamaru's name and will sometimes tease the Saniwa by acting like he also forgot their name.

♡ Their little pout just kills Higekiri every time.

♡ He would hug them. "I'm just kidding~♡ I could never forget you!"

Little Sparkle, Big Sparkle - Long Version

Written for the TR English Wiki’s drabble event, but the long version! It actually started like this and then I trimmed it to the short version that is posted :)

Title: Little Sparkle, Big Sparkle Characters: Genji Banzai!, child!Saniwa

“Careful, Aruji,” Higekiri said, crouching down as he helped to light the sparkler held in their little hand.

“Anija!” Hizamaru said, rushing over to the two. “Let me, you might burn yourself.”

Higekiri smiles softly at his brother, watching as he uses one hand to hold the sparkler steady then lit it with his own, yellow colored one.

“Ah!” the small child said, their eyes growing wide as the sparkler came to life, giggling at the green colors that emanated from it.

Higekiri’s went out, then held out another which he held in his pocket. Hizamaru lit the new one without question, his sparkler glowing blue.

“Aww,” the small child pouted when their sparkler had gone out. “No more sparkles.”

“No, no more,” Higekiri said, taking the burnt stick and tossing it into the water bucket nearby. “But there will be sparkles up there!”

He picked up the child and had them sit on his shoulder, just in time for the first firework to set off in the sky.

“Wow! Big sparkle!”

Their laughs filled the night as they pointed out their favorite fireworks, then lit more sparklers that were hidden until it was late. Hizamaru picked up the tuckered out child, cradling them close to his chest as they walked back to the citadel, the child eventually falling asleep, gripping onto his yukata.

He carefully laid them down in her bed, pulling the blanket up to cover them.

“Oyasumi, Aruji.”
