Hearing her voice that seemed distressed for whatever reason her leg was cramping up for, he couldn’t leave her there dealing with that. Leg cramps could be some of the most painful things to deal with, because they were unpredictable how long they would hurt. Normally massaging helped them…which he could do to help her, because he’s was always willing to help and— oh…what was this warm feeling that suddenly raised to his cheeks…?
Okay, so thinking about massaging her leg sorta left him embarrassed and made him think he shouldn’t be allowed to touch her delicate skin and thinking that if Rin caught him at some point and took it the wrong way, the orca might be on the menu for the sharks next dinner, but still…he wasn’t going to just stand there and let her be hurt, so…he’d do it. And with a gulp he turned toward her.
”Do you know what caused it to cramp up? I’ll…help relieve it for a bit if you want…”
This is why Gou shouldn't ever be running or even jogging almost: she was as unfit as the Iwatobi boys were fit. Her last class had kept her, as Gou'd needed to talk to a teacher about an upcoming exam, so being late meant she was running down the long path and staircase that'd take her up to the swimming pool and where the rest of the team was.
Unfortunately for her one wrong step going up the stairs meant that she landed wrong on her foot and a pain shot through her calf muscle halfway up. Gritting her teeth, crying out a little, and slowing long enough to stabilize herself on the railing, Gou was holding her leg a little as she hobbled the short distance to the deck above the starting blocks where Makoto found her.
"I ran up the stairs too fast and I stepped wrong on it...."
A stupid enough mistake to be embarrassing for Gou in her own right, but her own face flushing was embarrassment out of the clumsiness, not over what Makoto offered to do to help her feel better.
"You can if you want, Ama-chan-sensei's chair is right there, I can sit in that and watch you guys practice."
