Thank you.

Thank you for being here and having silly little roleplays and talking about silly little things. I think it's genuinely improved my life-- which I really didn't expect when i first joined.

I joined Tumblr to post art. I posted a few pieces of art on my main blog, but it eventually turned into another app where I doomscroll for hours everyday. I tricked myself into thinking doomscrolling here was different than doomscrolling anywhere else. I thought this was "community," when really I was just watching communities. I thought I was improving my addiction to my phone. I wasn't.

And then, One Day. The officalverse started popping up everywhere. I was intrigued-- of course I was, It seemed Funny-- but I didn't plan on joining until I saw the Evil Officalverse. (And even then, It still seemed daunting to join something like that).

I eventually joined on a post where @lemonade-offical was speaking about having an evil version. I joined about an hour after that post was made-- I joined a minute after I saw the post though. I knew I would likely either abandon this account or regret it later, but I was sleep deprived and bored, and there was a funny punchline to be had.

So, I joined the Evil Officalverse on a whim. It was probably the best decision I made while on Tumblr.

I met a lot of cool people in the officalverse, @evil-man-offical, @evilpineapple-offical, @evil-lemon-shark-offical, @egg-offical, @lemonade-offical to name a couple.

They helped me out greatly during a time of struggle for me IRL just by being here and roleplaying and blogging stupid stuff with me.

I think this is a real community-- that's something I don't think I've experienced before. I got used to watching communities, rather than being in them. But then I somehow accidentally joined one! And wow, it has been fun.

One last thanks to send it off :)

Thank You, to all my friends. For being there. Because it means a lot to me. And if we literally just make silly jokes at each other, then thank you for making silly jokes with me.

It's called the House of Leaves because it has endless cold corridors which merely serve to draw us further away from our loved ones in the same way that the obsession of finding "truth" in academia - in the endless "house of (paper) leaves" that is the library - draws us away from the experience of the world

me rambling about shirts with the tone of a 39 year old blogging about their day bc i didn't have any tumblr-y jokes to make and i just really enjoy these shirts

finally caved and got sleep shirts bc normally i just collect my old comfy shirts and those t shirts you get from events but i keep having to do laundry early bc i'm running out of clean sleep shirts specifically. i do the laundry and it's like 90% sleep shirt bc i'm inside more than outside. and i haven't been going to enough events with tshirts and none of my day shirts from the past 4-5 years have reached sleep shirt status. so i finally just actually got fresh shirts. it was fun bc i'm really picky about day shirts but this time i could just go "yeah i like the colors. it's soft. it's cheap. perfect sleep shirt quality". like one of them has a car on it. i hate cars. but the colors were nice and i'm gonna be unconscious when i wear it so.

i also didn't need to stress about getting the size right bc it was just a t shirt and those are basically a square that's meant to be non form fitting. and i just went with the bigger end of the size that usually fits me (i span between like three sizes depending on the store and brand and i also am picky with sizes bc autism. also stores like to make the shoulder part of t shirts fitted in the women's section for some fucking reason). but basically as long as the shirt is lose and the shoulders aren't tight it works.

anyways they're just a couple low quality shirts with pretty colors that don't need to be high quality because i will wear that shit until i die. and it doesn't matter if my tastes change bc sleep shirts by default are not meant to fit my taste. my oldest sleep shirt is over a decade old. it might be old enough to drive😭. (and it looks like it too by god. i might try to sew it up a little bc it's sentimental. and super comfy)

these are just fun bc i picked them out so there's some extra dopamine. they're so pretty !!!!!!!!!

i just really love a good purchase. i was raised frugal so i always love spending money on something that i know i'll get my moneys worth out of and more. especially when it was cheap to begin with. i hate how companies sell things that are gonna break within days/weeks but i love when i know i'm gonna make it last forever

I often make mournful jokes about how I've locked myself into an octet, and how writing this story is going to take up more years of my life than I care to think about. In reality, though, I'm grateful for how much time I get to spend with these characters. I've come to know them more intimately than I thought possible, and had the privilege of watching them grow up alongside me.

I know brevity is often the soul of wit, and my favorite stories are the ones that leave me wanting more. Nevertheless, there is magic in crafting something so rich and lengthy, and perhaps (loathe as I am to admit it) there is magic to be found in taking my time.

I could write these characters and this world for the rest of my life and still have more to learn about them. To be the stewardess of such a creation is a blessing I scarcely understand and fear I may not deserve.

I look down and see the hands of a student, clumsy yet earnest. I look within and see wonders.
